Henry as a character is a creation of our own and is therefor portrayed as he is. We recognize that with the casting of Keith David, this portrayal is probably not true to canon. Set after Ep 6. Angel goes into the studio after a drink with Husk. He doesn’t know what to expect from Val but he isn’t looking forward to it. Little does he know Val has sinister plans.

When Angel arrives to work, there’s no employees in the studio. The spider demon rifles through his purse and pulls out his phone confusion taking over his features. He quickly opens his schedule to see, he is 5 minutes late, but he’s scheduled for a whole 24 hours. “The fuck?” He walks to his dressing room with a pit in his stomach. “What kind of prank is this Val?” Angel mutters to himself under his breath. The spider demon stands in front of the old door, barely hanging onto its hinges. Unfortunately, the pornstar knows better than to leave when scheduled, even when it seems like no one is here. For all he knew Val was running later than him. Deciding to not anger his boss more, Angel steadies himself with a deep breath and pushes the door open.

Even though Husk says it quietly, Angel hears it loud and clear. Yet his brain struggles to process the implication, stuttering and stalling like the engine of a car.

He still died, of course; but Death had been injured in a previous fight, leaving the wolf vulnerable. Now Midas’ Touch is spreading, and Death can only slow the process until he finds a cure. He will need help for that, but most magical and non-magical beings would much rather let the embodiment of Death turn into a gold statue forever and grant everyone immortality. Well, most beings.
Or: Death gets a curse, a conscience, and a crush. One might argue he just got three curses. But Midas’ Touch is the more direct threat to his existence and work, so he will look for a solution to this particular problem, and ignore the other two until they go away.
