CHANCE CARD: You have leveled up, and everything you do will now be photographed. Microphones pointed at your mouth like weapons. Cameras that see in the dark. Roll again with caution. Roll again anyway. Roll again anyway because you're young and stupid and so fucking hungry for him you could eat the world and still have room for more. Just don't admit it. Especially not to yourself.
(in this one, a hockey game is a board game, and a board game is a love story.)

Wyatt was not, like, nosy. For sure, he was interested. He was curious. He engaged with people, obviously, because most people were interesting and engaging and had cool thoughts and said neat stuff if you asked.
So, no. Wyatt wasn’t nosy, but he wasn’t stupid, either.

Summary
Mickey figures he has two options: check them both into the hospital, since they're suffering from some sort of shared delusion, or believe the guy when he says he's an alien.
The thing is—Mickey believes him.
(Inspired by the immortal line "I like fucking carrot-tops. Like, with the freckles and the pale skin? Fucking . . . alien-looking?")

Summary
For the prompt: "Who doesn’t love a wintry or festive themed coffee shop au? It would be nice to see Patrick trying to tempt David from his standard, complicated, coffee shop order, with increasingly new and inventive festive drinks. Cataloguing every thing David hates and or loves about each flavour. David feels very seen (in a good way). Chocolatier could work in a v similar way. Basically give David Rose all the sugary treats, all the romance, and all the love!

Sometimes an AU doesn’t have to be 30k to feel full and real and wonderful. This AU is a perfect hit of humor, happiness, and love. My favorite vendor!Patrick.

So so much packed into stories. Jayson is a mirror and a window and pretty cute with Uncle David and Patrick besides. Worth lots of rereads.

Summary
Patrick doesn’t respond correctly - because Patrick has never once responded correctly to David being horrible. He just takes another sip of tea, and fucking smiles again.
“What?” David snaps.
“Nothing, I just-”
He stops, mouth still open, sound still somewhere in his throat. Then he laughs again. It’s quieter this time, more to himself, like he’s surprised himself with it. It’s infuriating, and it’s adorable, and David doesn’t get it.Or, five times Patrick almost said "I love you", and one time David said it first.

Patrick, 8:55 a.m.: Call me asap
Patrick, 8:57 a.m.: David, answer the phone. It’s important.
Patrick, 9:31 a.m.: I really fucked up. We need to talk.
Patrick, 9:33 a.m.: Shit, the session is starting and I’m already running late. I’ll call around noon at the next break, maybe plan on closing the store for lunch around then?David’s eyes bored into the screen, attempting to force more information to appear. He’d missed the messages when they first came in, too busy dealing with an unexpected Saturday morning crowd by himself to check his phone.
The texts were accompanied by four missed calls, but no voicemails.

I've never once been disappointed by this writer. I love this whole series and the Fun Home one tore me up and put me back together into a better person. Part Four is equally murderous and is the perfect example of how great, insightful writing can take something you don't really see happening and make it so real and meaningful and show you something about yourself and the characters.

Summary
“Um,” his voice cracks and he clears his throat and tries again, “Um, Patrick can’t come into work today?”
“Oh?” Alexis asks, keeping the question carefully nonchalant which really only makes things worse. If she’s sparing his feelings then shit surely must be hitting the fan.
“Yeah.”
“Did he say why?” Again, meticulously neutral.
“No.”
Or, the morning after Grad Night goes somewhat differently when Patrick gets a call from home.
