Charles gets it now. Arthur loves him just not in the way Charles loves him back. Arthur loves him as a companion, a dearest friend. This is how men are supposed to love each other.
“Okay,” Charles says matter-of-factly, and pulls his shirt over his head. “I won’t leave ever. Let’s get some sleep.”:::::::

The man seemed entertained by that rather than offended. He bore a confidence only an insane man could. He did not deem to dwell on it, instead continuing with his monologue, like one of the villains from Jack’s books, “I figured we could be good hosts and treat yeh to a little game. Five Finger Filet. I reckon you’ve played before, yes?”

Arthur didn’t know how to respond for a brief moment, so he stumbled over a couple of vowels before Hosea’s laugh was settling him and he said slowly, “I suppose I am? Nothing much though.”
Hosea’s eyes didn’t leave the rhythmic lapping of the lake against the dock, but the way his mouth curled, Arthur knew that he was about to be perhaps a bit too smart.
