Summary
David makes up the insane theory that Kate must be Brad's ex-girlfriend in an effort to figure out why Brad is acting so weird.
It makes sense to him by all accounts - the why he freaked out about Zack meeting his coworkers (he obviously knows all about Kate and Brad's old relationship), and why Jo suddenly seems to be treating Brad as weaker than usual (how can you be a shark when you have gave into a temptation such as a woman?).
His theory gets stuck, though, when he can't figure out just what happened between Brad and Kate that's making him act this way. And of course, that means he has to snoop...
or; david's an idiot who wants to know everything (about brad) and it backfires. badly.

Oh, who was he kidding? Remus Lupin was not normal whatsoever, even by wizarding standards. In fact, he was probably the most abnormal child in the area—in the country—on the continent—in the world? He wouldn't be surprised.
Normal, his mum always said, was overrated.
Normal, his dad always said, was a myth.
It didn't matter what normal was, though; not really. Whatever is was, Remus Lupin wasn't it.

Remus Lupin has more than one secret, and there’s no way of knowing who he can trust. All he has are his parents, but they can’t protect him when he goes off to Hogwarts.
But then Remus meets a boy and his two other friends, and soon realises that some secrets can’t be kept forever.
Canon compliant if you want it to be. Personally, this is more self-indulgent than anything.
