“No! NO! I’ve listened to you two going at each other for longer and harder than we’ve fought some of the individuals in this room- no offense.” Donnie snapped, nodding at a few bewildered faces that were unfortunate witnesses to their dirty laundry. Figurative and literal. “This can’t go on any longer. I will not allow it.”

During the first go-around with the Krang Invasion, Donatello rises to the occasion and takes his helm as leader of the Resistance. The Earth may be a burning ship, but he will do all he can to protect his brothers and the humans that come to rely on them.

Just a maybe, of course, because his judgments are almost always flawless, and this one shouldn't be any different. But admittedly, the constant effort to keep a hand overtop a profusely bleeding puncture wound, plus cleaning up blood in-between his brother's concerned glances...it's a hassle. All he's wanted for the last thirty minutes is to pass out.
But he needs to stay strong. This team can't take any more worrying. "OR: Donnie sustains a definitely-not-life-threatening injury, and out of worry for his brothers, keeps it hidden. Little does he know, such selflessness can have...unwanted and very damaging consequences.

Summary
Donnie could hardly count how long they've been at this, this... what the turtle could only describe as purgatory. Whatever it was that hit their world in a blast, it had destroyed everything they known.
The turtles are forced to navigate a broken world, making difficult and painful decisions just for survival. But whatever they faced, at least they were mostly together.
TW: war-like scenery, blood and injury, death. NO T-CEST!!! Set in the TMNT 2007 verse, but you can adapt it to any media-verse you like. It's kind of Donnie-centric but it's also Raph-centric from Donnie's perspective. (I love apocalypse narratives and I couldn't help myself).

Yet Donnie felt like he was detached from his own body, drifting through the months following the Invasion in an attempt to ignore the growing wrongness infecting his mind and body.
Donnie just wanted things to go back to how they were. Where the biggest worries he and his brothers had were who got the last slice of pizza. He wanted to be able to sneak into April’s apartment to help her with her homework until they inevitably got distracted and wasted hours watching funny YouTube videos.
Donnie just wanted things to be right.

Summary
Donnie collided with Leo in a tangle of limbs. There was an instinctive cling in return from his twin, before the realization sunk in.
"No." Leo breathed in his ear, immediately shattered. "No, no, no, no, no!”
Every muscle in Donnie's body was shaking like an earthquake from the amount of effort he'd just expended. The explosion caught up to them, sending the twins spiralling away into space and debris.
For one singular moment, Donnie allowed himself a burst of victory. His heart was still thudding a thousand miles an hour in his chest, having been absolutely terrified he wasn't going to make it in time. But he did. And he held onto Leo, his prize.
Then they hit the ground, the sudden tumble bursting them apart. Donnie felt the world spin, rapid and disorientating, before he slammed into something rock and cracking under his impact.

Summary
Considering the recent alien invasion and all the other shit that happened, Donnie should have been used to it. It was such a normal occurrence; it was practically the new normal.
Noise was normal. It had surrounded him and the world for as long as the space-time continuum had existed. He had been surrounded by it his whole life. Never, can he remember a moment of silence when it came to his past memories, his entire lifetime.
If he had been surrounded by noises and sounds his whole life, then why did he suddenly feel like curling up and crying whenever someone closed a door, yelled in retaliation to another’s comment or just simply turned up the volume on their TV to hear better?
It was just noise, just stupid sounds!
Why did it bother him so much?
Basically, in addition to the heightened sensory issues, Donnie develops the fear of loud noises and doesn’t know how to deal with it.
This is set after the Krang invasion, when they are somewhat healing but still have a long way to go.
