Two lines run side by side through time.
One may diverge from the straight path they tread, and the other in a maze of its own creation, but one way or another, they always find their way back to the path they had started on.
Steve Rogers had fallen for Bucky Barnes at the tender age of 16, even if he himself hadn't known it yet. He had walked by his side until the very end, presumably joining him in death in the Arctic after Bucky had fallen from the train.
However, that was not the case. It was never in the cards for them to die there, never in that lifetime, never in the lifetimes that had come before.
The two lines will find each other again in a vicious fight for both life and love, a ferocious cycle that begs the question: "In this life, were we meant to fall in love, or would fate so cruelly snatch you from my grasp once again?" -
