Reki Kyan isn’t a genius by any means.
Sure, he’s not dumb. At least he doesn’t think he is. Like, if you were to set a math assignment in front of him, no problem. That’s a breeze. He’ll be done with time to spare and could probably double check his work a solid three times in the time remaining. But if you were to put some English homework in front of him...that’s a different story. He’d sit there and scan the words for a few minutes even though they’re not getting through his skull. Maybe he’d tap his foot and click his pen a little as if it’ll make the time go faster. He’d scribble on the paper a bit, but then end up giving up and trying to do it in the morning by rapidly writing in answers while Langa hovered over his shoulder.
So Reki’s not a genius.
But he’s definitely, like, smart to some degree. Right?
So he’s around 99.91% sure that Langa’s trying to find excuses to touch him.

Langa pushes his board back and forth, the little rumble of the tires filling the late afternoon quiet between them as he takes a deep, audible breath, looks directly at Reki, and nods. “Yes.”
And that’s a surprise. Reki tries not to let it show. “Have you guys been on any dates?”
“Yeah. I mean, I thought they were dates.”
That’s… kind of sweet. Sweet in the way that feels like it's going to make Reki sick. “How have you even had time for that?” he mutters. “You spend all your time with me.”

Summary
They had made up and Reki finally accepted that Langa and him were on different skill levels when it came to skateboarding. It was all good between them. But that didn’t mean that Reki’s insecurities would just vanish. He felt bad for intruding on Langa’s and his mothers house, for taking up Langa’s time now in which he could be already sleeping and for having Langa waste whatever band-aids and stuff he was going to use on him. He was just causing unnecessary work.

His smile is so bright it could blind him, but even in the hesitant chill of the morning it only warms him from the inside out.Reki wraps him in a hug at the corner. “I missed you,” he mutters into Langa’s shoulder.
Langa reaches around Reki’s shoulders, so the soft fabric of his hoodie touches the inner edge of his wrist. “You saw me last night,” he replies.
“Yeah,” Reki hums. “But it’s been too long.”.

He’d close his eyes to savor it, all the callouses and faded scars and the scratch of bandaids that seemed to nuzzle right back- familiar and safe. That’s what Reki was. Familiar and safe and so, so warm. And when Langa’s eyes fluttered open, Reki would already be caressing his other cheek, holding him gently between each hand while studying him with those sunset eyes.
Langa had no idea how he’d gotten so lucky for the sun to set on him.

He woke up, blinking the sleep out of his tired eyes. He’d usually feel cold, tightening the blanket around himself and curling up to keep warm until he felt like getting up. This time, Langa felt warm. He felt his chin resting on top of something and something else on his shoulder. There was something warm pressed against his chest too.
He pulled his chin away to see that warmth that was pressed against him, sleepy eyes greeted to a sight of a tuft of messy, wild red hair and a smaller person snuggled up against the blue haired male to the point where Langa couldn’t help but smile fondly.
Or basically Langa is hella whipped for Reki while they cuddle in the morning.
