Summary
Shotgun runs a stim-virus (normal) and starts talking about how the wizard war that sunk the entire continent of Ejrop was actually a community vote, whatever that even means (not normal). She and Rex talk about that.
it's mostly just some back and forth dialogue between several characters where I sketch out some ideas for the background stuff in the plot and work out why there are so many characters who don't want to be playing high-kayfabe on the high-kayfabe part of the game. Very loosely inspired by Infinite Dendrogram, which has pretty much the same setup as Rex's universe I think, now that i've read further in Dendro.

If you're a cat, chances are you don't have a bank account, or, like, a job. There's a solution for that - go get yourself turned into a human for a bit, work for some money, and then squirrel it away for later. Trouble is, it's hard to get a good deal on that sort of thing.
Ah, well, if they're going to try and screw you, you might as well screw them back, right?
Two street-cats-reently-temporarily-turned-human carefully don't mention that they're doing illegal work under the table to the temp agency official currently tasked with getting them jobs when the contract they're magically bound to means they'll be being paid pennies tries really hard to figure out if they even know what the fuck they signed in the first place.

Original-work universe, with some aims at a central story that I'll finish someday; for now, collecting all the bits and bobs that are meant to be "closer!verse canon".
First draft of the first attempt at the main book is Why Don't You Stay Close To Me; it is badly out of date and kind of weird because I started it when I was sixteen. Things do not get any better because instead of fixing it I just had fun for a while with proximal side characters.

Ed's newly out younger roommate is a sweet enough kid, but he's got horrible online friends (read: groomers) and seems to really, really think Ed is a cis man. But, whatever. It's not Ed's business.
