It's choppy and clumsy, sticking up at the back, a cowlick near the right side of her head pops up and refuses to stay in place. She only had kiddie scissors, didn't trust her small hands with a knife from the kitchen, and there are split ends and the bangs are uneven, cut too far up on her forehead.
She absolutely loves it.
(When Jason is thirteen-and-three-months, he clocks someone in the jaw for saying her.
His knuckles are sore and aching for a full two days afterwards, and he revels in the burn of it.)

Summary
Instead of John disappearing in October of 2005 and Sam and Dean teaming up to go find him, Dean disappears in August of the same year, and John gets Sam to join him in a search for his brother. There follows an insane quest to find Dean and help him recover from what happened to him. And keep him safe.
This is a second take on the premise that Azazel paid attention to Dean's claims when he time-traveled back to 1973 and took action based on them.
This and Highways & Byways are the only ones I've actually finished (and started sequels to), but I've got a million variations on this idea.
