Summary
Steve was never comfortable with others taking care of him. It was why he'd fallen so easily into the babysitter role: he'd held himself together all his life, he'd never had anyone else to do it for him.
When Steve, Robin, Eddie, and Nancy make it out of the Upside Down, Steve keeps his bandages wrapped tight and doesn't let anyone see, insisting he's fine, he's fine, he's always fine. He checks on Nancy, makes sure the kids have a place to sleep, and tries to get away to deal with his wounds on his own.
But his stubbornness won't stop the Party from helping him when he needs it.or

Eddie Munson is hooking up with Steve Harrington.
It started right before Thanksgiving break, Steve coming to him with that mysterious scar across his forehead and stitches still in his lip, which Eddie remembers people whispering was from Billy Hargrove, saying he needed something for the pain. And of course Eddie supplied, Harrington paid him the big bucks after all, but then he..kept coming back.
Whatever, it’s not like Eddie expects this to go anywhere.
Especially with Steve's weird cop-dad interrupting them every chance he gets.

The wolf stays where he’s at and for a moment Eddie feels extremely stupid for trying to communicate with an animal but then the wolf stands up- and woah he’s way bigger up close.
Eddie watches as the wolf steps closer and giggles at the wet cold feeling of his snout sniffing at his hand. He brings it up to pet through the wolf’s unbelievably soft fur and marvels at the glisten of the golden-like color even in the moonlight. “You do too, huh?” Eddie giggles, scratching behind the wolf’s ear as he sniffs at Eddie’s face. “I think I’m gonna’ call you Ozzy.”
Ozzy huffs and Eddie laughs.
“Yeah. Ozzy suits you perfectly.”

Inexplicably, Steve's hand reaches out to touch the carved letters that don’t even spell out Eddie’s real name. “Fuck. Shitty first date. I mean, if you want it to be. Otherwise, it’s just a talk. Guess you’ll have to tell me sometime.” His palm rests against the stone, fingers splaying, and he scooches another inch closer, and then another, until he’s almost pressed against it. For a heartbeat, he just breathes there, pretends, between inhales and exhales, that the scent of Eddie’s cheap cologne, something spicy and soothing, always mixed with earthy weed, twines into the crests of the wind.

Summary
The Squawk had become their cover, their communication hub, their war room. Robin did the actual broadcasts mostly playing music and reading pre-written community updates approved by the military presence in town, but the real purpose was the coded messages. Steve had helped her set up the whole system, spending hours figuring out how to get all the sound effects she wanted, taping things to walls and attempting to MacGyver random things around the station. That was just who Steve was, but looking around the room now, Robin wondered more and more if anyone else actually saw that.

And yet, here he was, in the tunnels beneath Hawkins, holding his nail bat in his bloodied hands like it was some kind of holy relic, standing between a bunch of kids and a hellscape that none of them could have ever imagined. Billy Hargrove’s fists had done their job well. He could still taste copper in his mouth and feel the warm stickiness of blood drying on his skin. His nose ached sharply every time he took a breath. But none of it mattered, because the only thing that did right now was keeping those little shits alive.
Little did he know, his life was about to change forever in ways that nobody could’ve expected.
