“Geralt, forgive me, I…I should not have come here, shouldn’t have disturbed you. Please allow me to withdraw my prayer, no one needs to die,” Jaskier says shakily, and even though there is fear in the bard’s heart for his own life, largely there is regret and horror that he asked for Valdo’s death.
The demigod sighs softly, going down to one knee in front of the mortal, and very gently tilting Jaskier’s face to look up at him with a gloved finger under the bard’s chin. The witcher tries to make his stern countenance a gentler one and offers the man a small but sad smile as he murmurs in his gravelly baritone, “That’s not how this works, Jaskier. I can…set aside your request, as it were, but it doesn’t just go away. A prayer made must be answered.”

Geralt finds himself battling a mysterious potion-related illness while developing relationships with the local barber and toy shop owner, and hoping he can figure out what's wrong with him and fix it before it ruins everything: his small business, his fresh start, and whatever is happening between him and Regis and Dettlaff.

Geralt has only just found Regis, after thinking his friend dead for the past five years. He's not about to lose him again so soon, and definitely not because of his misplaced loyalty to a brutish and blood-thirsty fellow vampire. Dettlaff is out to burn down the world, and Geralt isn't about to let Regis get caught in the crossfire. But keeping him safe isn't going to be easy. The stress seems to be getting to Regis, and he might just be slipping back into bad habits.

To seal the new treaty between Redania and the Warlord, Lady Milena de Roggeven, third daughter of the Duke of Roggeven, has been sent to marry whichever of the Warlord’s men he chooses.
Milena is starkly terrified of everything about her new husband; every rumor she has ever heard about the barbarians of the north seems worse than the last, and Lambert clearly despises the very thought of marriage.

Iorveth, the leader of the Scoia'tael, stands a chance at helping Geralt in his cause to find and protect Cirilla, if he can be found. Roche knows this task is no small undertaking, but it is for a friend who has saved both him and his men time and time again and perhaps he could get something out of the elf while he has him. So he agrees. After all, it's just a favor, right?

The customer pool at Kaer Morhen Coffee and Cakes was drying up faster than they could refill it and before long they’d all be searching for someplace else to fill the hole left in their lives. It just sucked worse for Geralt who happened to live with the apartment upstairs - and whose dead mother had dreamed of owning the shop in the first place.
As if to add insult to injury Dandelion, his on-again-off-again friend with benefits, was about to move out. Meaning poor Geralt was lonelier than ever. Cue an added complication: two men suddenly begin to take an interest in getting to know the sad barista.
Maybe things won’t be as bad as they seem.
