Summary
When the House of Barnes is left in massive debt after the death of George Barnes, their oldest son and heir, Bucky, is forced to sacrifice his own hopes and dreams by entering an arranged married to Steve Rogers. Steve seems kind enough, has a prominent job in the government, and was even voted Society's Best Catch. But the House Rogers is significantly higher in status than Bucky's family, which means Bucky is marrying up in Society, and marrying up doesn't only come with rewards, it also comes with certain...expectations and losses--some of which Bucky might be willing to do anything to avoid. And those opportunities might come his way.
Unless, of course, he actually starts falling in love with his new husband...

This is the follow-up to The Night Has Seen Your Mind.
I just wanted to write some Stucky h/c but this, well, I'm not saying there's none of that, I'm just saying that's not really what this is. Never could do things the easy way.
This is Bucky in from the cold, fresh off a triumphant escape from HYDRA, but stuck now with the aftermath. His arm is busted, he has 75 years of cumulative damage to deal with, HYDRA's vengeance includes releasing the files on his missions to the world and whipping up sentiment against him, he still has implanted conditioning to reckon with, and he's a YouTube sensation.
Steve has to handle his confusing career status, the unfinished business he and Bucky left behind decades ago, and the whole idea of having personal feelings and, like, relationships and things.
Natasha is still coming to terms with life as not-a-spy, and her own implanted conditioning.
Sam Wilson is perfect in every way but sometimes exasperated. His job is not easy. His personal life is even less easy.Series

Bucky made a sound that would have been embarrassingly needy if he weren't so turned on right now, and he found himself nodding fervently. "Yeah, baby, fuck — I want it, want you to fuck me."
"Yeah?" Steve's voice was soft and there was a sort of wonder in it. His fingers moved deeper, unrelentingly, drawing a long moan from Bucky. "Fuck, you look so beautiful like this. I wanna make you feel good, Buck, help me make you feel good . . ."

Summary
Bucky is a stable hand working for Winter Oaks Equestrian Center. Steve is the new jockey Bucky has a big crush on. Both have a passion for their work, for the horses, and . . . for . . . each other? Well, that got awkward fast.

This time the jeering is directed at Bucky, and one of them calls out, "Better make that shower cold to soothe the burn, Barnes!"
But Bucky's still got a lopsided grin as he drops his towel on one of the benches and takes over Steve's vacated cubicle.
"I'll get you for that later, Rogers," he promises as the water starts up.
Steve just shakes his head, face still a bit red, and hears a few more of the guys hassling Bucky as he pulls on his fresh clothes and heads out. The work is hard, but he likes the atmosphere and camaraderie here; there's no aggressive, jealous edge that he's felt in other stables. It's a nice change.
