Summary
Ena Shinonome is of a wealthy family who owns a farm. She's a determined artist with a fiery passion and a hint of rebellion. She has an angry exterior under which she hides the most caring soul this side of the Mississippi. She's the kind of girl that has people lining up to be with her or even just to be her friend, the kind who, at least on the surface, has the life everyone wishes they did.
Akiyama Mizuki is none of those things. A transgender outcast with only a mutt for company. A girl living in a beat up trailer who keeps everyone at arms length and watches as they reward her with a jeers and disgust, giving her a wide berth. There is no way someone like Ena could ever even look her way, much less want to be with her forever. Even if she did, there was no way Mizuki would ever deserve it, at least that's what she thinks.
But perhaps she does have a chance after all. Maybe the two of them aren't quite so different after all.

The demon jolted in surprise. “Oh! My goodness! Well, uh. I mean. Where to start?” He started counting points off on his fingers. “You can’t hold down a job. Your ex is blatantly still in love with you. Your other ex thinks dating you was an insult to his intelligence. Your old cult keeps finding you. Grian’s still in your old cult. Grian thinks you can’t tell he’s still in your old cult. Your stalker’s still in your friendgroup. Your sister’s obnoxiously perfect. Everyone you know bullies you constantly. Grian again, but this time just because of his general personality. Uh. You ruin everything you’re involved with.”
“Excuse me?!”
“You can’t be that surprised!”

The man hovering over him leaned back, releasing Grian completely. Cold night air rushed in to fill the void.
“I guess it’s out in the open now,” the stranger hummed. “Shame. I wanted to avoid this.”
With the additional glow occupying the space between them, Grian was finally able to catch features that were lost in the prior darkness. His curiosity outweighed all else, and he drank them in greedily. As soon as he saw who sat across from him, alarms blared in his mind.
This man wasn’t a civilian, wasn’t even a hero.
“Hello, Doctor,” the villain mused. “You were quite the help today.”

Summary
When Impulse receives a funky radio as a birthday present from his best friends and roommates Gem and Pearl, he doesn't expect to find himself enamoured by the charming host of a small radio station. As a small crush develops even further, he finds himself conflicted as to how he can love someone who is basically a stranger.
Meanwhile, Skizz is desperate for this radio gig to start earning so he can quit his soul-sucking job and spend his days doing what he loves - making people laugh. It's quite a way off, the number zero next to the listener count is quite a sore subject for him but when that number ticks up to one he finds a sense of hope that he hasn't felt for a long time.

“Seriously,” Joel said, very deliberately steering the conversation back to his original point, “have you noticed her?”
Etho quietened for a moment, then frowned. He glanced around the room, blinked, then turned back to Joel. “Noticed who?”
“The new girl ,” Joel reiterated, shifting even closer to Etho, so their thighs now touched. He reached over, grabbed Etho’s chin, and tugged it in the direction of her , pointing her out to him.
She was over by the practise dummies, going absolutely ham on one with a wooden sword, twirling around it in graceful movements and striking it with more force than seemed physically possible for a girl of her size. Once the dummy fell, she turned, cheeks painting red and breath coming out in huffs. She swiped at the red curls falling over her face, pushing them behind her ear, then through her sword to the side. Her eyes traced the room, and eventually landed on Joel and Etho, the edges lifting up into a smirk.
Joel quickly removed himself from Etho, his hands falling to his lap. He fell silent.
Etho hummed. “I have now, I guess,” he finally answered. “She’s pretty.”
Joel’s eyes widened. “That’s not what I meant, Etho!”

As if he recognised Impulse’s apprehension, Skizz reduced his wide grin to a friendly smile. “I saw you when I walked in and thought all your piercings were super sick. And I didn’t know anyone, so I figured I may as well talk to someone new,” His wings shuddered slightly. “I hope that’s okay with you?”
Impulse was shocked at how friendly Skizz was. In the three years he had been at this high school and the many years of knowing some of the other students from grade school, no one had ever paid this much attention to him. “Oh, that’s nice of you to say, and yeah sure it’s fine,” he responded, hoping his pause wasn’t too noticeable.
“Okay, that’s great! See you around, homie!” Skizz chirped before picking up his bag and walking out of class, leaving Impulse there to contemplate what just happened to him.

Typically, Joel wouldn’t have cared at all about what a stranger was wearing and looked like, but something about this guy weirdly intrigued Joel. He grabbed his pencil and sketchbook, and began scribbling something down.
As Joel pushed his sketchbook toward the white-haired kid, he watched as the guy read the words written for him on the sketchbook. “hey im joel. what u in detention for?” The white-haired boy seemed to let out a little chuckle, and took Joel’s pencil to seemingly begin writing a response down. “Hello, i’m Etho. I'm here because I was working on something instead of paying attention in class.”
The response seemed to satisfy Joel, as he took back the sketchbook and began writing something else on the paper. “exactly how tall are u?? what project were u doing in class? do u like music? i do drums do u do music?” Joel had scribbled all these questions on the sketchbook and again, handed the book over to the ‘Etho’ guy to answer.
Etho took the sketchbook and pencil back again, and began writing away.
