The prince shakily sits next to him. He smiles brightly, charming despite the blood that stains the front of his shirt. Red and gold mixed together. Tommy tries growling, but he hiccups instead. It’s- it’s so unfair. Things shouldn’t have ended up like this.
The human raises his hand and Tommy slams his eyes shut, awaiting pain, but his hand just rests gently on top of Tommy’s head.
“Hello, I am Prince Wilbur of the Antarctic Empire,” The human runs his hand through Tommy’s hair, “and you are now tied to me.”

Or, dragon hearts are known to give humans the closest thing to immortality by binding two lives together, and King Dream had taken Tommy's heart to evade his death for hundreds of years. The boy's life is flipped when the Antarctic Emperor kills Dream and Tommy's life is bound to Prince Wilbur's.
He may not be free, but Wilbur is much nicer than Dream ever was.

Tommy is waiting for him, depending on him. He’s just a baby, way too little to leave the burrow, so he needs Wilbur to make it back, to escape the hound and bring the food home. So Wilbur runs even though it hurts like a wildfire climbed inside of his skin and lungs.
He runs and then he sees a hole at the base of a magnificent oak tree—too small for the huge dog to fit into, but more than big enough for Wilbur. His feet skid on leaf litter as he makes a sharp change of course, but he doesn’t fall.
With snapping jaws at his back, down the hole he tumbles.

While obligatory, this series challenges a few pervasive narratives and hopes to rewrite foster aus as a concept through radical acceptance, diversity, and realistic healing.
Most people writing foster aus have no idea what they're doing. And tbf- that's okay. Most people aren't reading foster aus for accuracy. But as someone who is knowledgable about these systems and the trauma of foster care, I really wanted to see an au that tackled these concepts head on. So I did it myself.

Dream thought he'd chase Quackity out the second he showed up, with how messy Sam got last time he saw the duck. But Sam had apparently listened and now Technoblade was locked up in there with him. Dream hadn't told Techno about Sam raping him. Sam had cameras in the cell and he could barely tell him anything at all. He'd managed with a few books, shared secretly when Sam wasn't around. But Dream didn't trust Techno with that information. Not yet. He… he couldn't! What if Techno thought he deserved it too?

Phil pulled the bag back to reveal its contents. Inside it, gently glowing and sparking, was nearly a stack of blaze rods. Wilbur’s eyes widened at the sight. He needed blaze rods for potions. He desperately needed blaze rods. And Phil had more than enough to get him started!
But everything Phil brought always came with a price.
Wilbur knew that he was different from the rest of the server. For the rest of them (at least to his knowledge), Phil didn’t ask for the same favors like he asked from him. From that very first day where Phil dropped off buckets of fish for him to eat, Phil kept asking for favors. At first they were small. Almost inconsequential!
But Phil just kept asking for more. And, unless he wanted to lose the very precious items he’d been offered, he had to submit to Phil’s desires. And to be offered an entire stack of something so very difficult to obtain, Phil had to have something he wanted just as much as Wilbur wanted this.

He looked up sluggishly to find Techno in a similar state to him, swaying where he stood with rosy lashes fluttering.
“I don’t… What was in the potion?”
“T’ch,” Phil slurred, reaching out to his husband but misjudging his balance, sending him careening into Techno’s chest. The two of them fell like a sack of bricks, led on top of eachother in the pool of potion liquid as their vision swam.
Phil let his head rest against Techno’s form, the other man already unconscious. He wasn’t too far behind, eyelids stuttering until he finally slipped into the deep embrace of sleep, only vaguely aware of the tingly feeling overwhelming his body before he passed out.
Or, Phil accidentally spills a potion over him and Techno, and it has some unforeseen side effects
