This multi-chapter work includes select scenes from 1x01 to 15x20, with each chapter corresponding to a scene from an individual episode. Our story begins in the pilot, with a flashback to the night Sam left for Stanford.

“I was looking for a beer,” Dean tries, hoping to cut the tension and utterly failing. Dean brings both of his hands up to casually grab ahold of Sam’s biceps and Sam’s whole body tightens up at the touch. It would have been nearly imperceptible to a bystander, but Dean couldn’t miss it. That little flinch is all it takes for Dean to know exactly where he just went wrong. The pain in Dean’s chest sharpens. The decision to reach out for the comfort of a touch was as easy as breathing, but it was a mistake. In the second it takes Dean’s arms to fall down and Sam to take a step away from Dean, their minds are both catapulted back in time to that bone-chillingly cold night, the stretch of blacktop outside of that old rental house, the fight and slammed doors, the kiss that took them both by surprise, and the greatest heartbreak the two of them had ever known.
