The king of the Arctic leaves for an item that he claims will help their kingdom thrive. However, after he fails to show up after his promised time of return home, the three princes remember an old law set in the land for any circumstance like this.
If the King of the Arctic fails to keep any contact or sign of life for over a year, the crown falls to the next in line.
With fear of having to lead such a large kingdom, the two oldest flee from the castle; leaving behind their youngest brother to take care of it.
And fifteen years later, he is doing a much better job at it than any of those three could, thank you very much.

Summary
The royal family of Antarctic empire isn’t exactly close.
Emperor Philza is always occupied; Tommy hasn’t seen Techno in months, and even if Wilbur is here, their relationship can be described to be strained at best.
The royal family doesn’t need to be close, however, it only needs to be balanced, like the pillars holding the country above their heads – as long as they are strong and steady, the Empire will be too. It’s the principle that held Tommy’s back straight and his shoulders broad through the years of hardships and trials of errors; through yet another formal meeting where his father’s gaze would look past him and where his brother’s words would be filled with poison that makes the deepest parts of his soul ache.
At that time, Tommy couldn't know that his family would find a replacement for him in the face of a commoner boy named Ranboo.

He stares at Sam, wide blue eyes and then narrows them again “Are you a cop?” He asks suspiciously
Sam laughs at the tone of his voice and suppresses another urge to pull the kid into his arms and hug him, ruffling his hair and giving him the teddy bear he always wanted
He shakes his head “No, I'm not a cop” he tells him “Are you lost?”
The kid frowns “I think you are lying”

It had been Tommy and Tubbo for practically forever. They clawed their way out of hell together. They discovered their superpowers together. They started working for the Superhero Guild together before even coming of age. Tommy probably owed Tubbo his life ten times over. So, when the three supervillains he'd been assigned to bring in managed to take Tubbo hostage, well, there was really only one thing to do.
He knew, of course, he was signing himself up for torture and death by offering that trade, but that was okay.
It'd have to be okay.

“What do you want from inside of it?” Tommy asks the man trying to rob him, flipping his wallet open and thumbing through the cards inside. “You want my Student ID card? You want my coupon for a free smoothie at the gas station a couple of streets down? You want this card some guy gave me advertising his rapper career?”
“That’s- that’s all you have?” The man seems shocked, but Tommy doesn’t know why he would be. There’s nothing about him that really screams ‘wealthy and important’.
“I’m a broke college student- of course that’s all I have.”

Nervousn8 writes a superhero au where Tommy is a Normal Guy just trying to make it through college while avoiding all his problems and sleeping. He's not having a very good time, especially not when these fucking rich people keep trying to give him pity money.

Or: Tommy & Tubbo lose the Final Disc War, and Tommy is taken into the Pandora's Vault prison. Sam, being the warden, has to deal with this and decide on what to do as he slowly realizes just how far Dream has fallen as well as how Tommy has suffered. Still, it's far from simple. Sam is painfully human even when he wishes he was not.

Summary
Tommy is a fairy who lives alone in a dark cave. Hurt by humans too many times, he lives alone in his part of the forest. He loves to watch the humans and ache for contact, but he knows it will only end in a new scar on his heavily painted body. At the ripe age of six, he's been hurt more and more by the creatures who fear what they don't understand.
Three people get lost on his side of the forest, and he can't help but get closer. He's gone so long without others that his lonesomeness overpowers his nerve ending fear. He gets closer.
He gets too close, but in the end, he doesn't regret it too much.

“What crimes?” Phil snaps as a muzzle is clipped over Wilbur’s mouth and Techno is forced into a reinforced straight-jacket. “Get the fuck off of me!”
A trident is placed under Phil’s chin and Tommy can feel his heart shatter.

Mr. Sam’s dark eyes softened, and he reached out to place a hand on Tommy’s shoulder, squeezing it gently. “Everyone has to start somewhere; every poet, from me to Rudy Francisco, started off without knowing a clue about what we were doing. "Uses the air currents like feelers, I think," Dream's breath was coming heavier as he carried on running. "Gets an idea of where things are in relation to him. He doesn't always get it right, sometimes there are cracks in things big enough to feel like an escape route and he slams into a wall. Or he doesn't angle close enough to the ground and trips on things. He's uh-" Dream flipped the communicator around, and Techno blinked as Bad flew through the air, screeching the whole way. "He's slippery."
