Arthur has been living abroad for several years, wanting to get as far away from his family and the expectations placed on him as possible, but the unexpected death of his brother brings him back home where he must confront the things that drove him away. He has to deal with the guilt of not being in his brother's life for the last few years and how much he missed because of that as well as the fact that maybe his father wasn't what he thought he was. And to make everything even more complicated there's his brother's boyfriend, Merlin, who might just be his salvation if their guilt and sadness doesn't drown them before they even get started.

What Arthur knows: Merlin, his clumsy and foolish servant, is actually quite smart. He’s also loyal, and brave, and in many ways the reason Arthur has so many good people in his life.
The goal: Make Merlin realize how important he is to Arthur, no matter how stubborn he's clearly chosing to be about it.
What Arthur does not know, yet: Merlin has magic. Also they're very slightly a little bit in love.
It's going to take them a while to figure it all out. Meanwhile the knights have known for ages, Gwen figures it out pretty quick, and pretty much all of Camelot has also known ever since that weird peasant stumbled through the gates and challenged the Prince all those years ago.

“Oh, I don’t know who he really is—no one does,” she says. “Although, some people think he’s probably a grad student doing some avant-garde project for a thesis or something. Others think the whole account is just an elaborate advertisement for Budweiser.”
Arthur doesn’t understand most of what she just said but nods anyway.
Squinting her eyes, she gauges his confusion regardlessly. “It’s someone pretending to be the famous sorcerer. See here, this is his most recent tweet.” At Arthur’s odd look, she clarifies, “It’s like a message that everyone can see.”
@asorcerersays: Guys why did he have to be so hot and like,,,funny? Like it’s been forever and I still miss him. He was pretty dumb though.
Arthur knows his face must look disgusted. “For everyone to see?”

Arthur sports a neon orange crown made of cardboard. Their daughter, with her rainbow coloured blanket-turned-cape, pink crown and toilet paper roll sword, is safe in his arms. Around Arthur's shoulders, a ruby red blanket serves as a cape. It flares and swoops as they spin around and around.
It’s missing a golden dragon on the left shoulder, Merlin thinks offhandedly.
