Summary
Jayce groans. This whole train of thought was supposed to distract him from his body, and here it is, imposing itself unwanted and omnipresent.
Put in the crudest, roughest form, Jayce wants to get on his hands and knees, crawl across the floor, and kneel at Viktor’s feet.
And it’s hard to kneel when his leg is fucked.

It started with trembling hands and ended with him struggling to breathe. He would hold his crystal against his chest and beg the magic to warm him up.

Summary
There, on his chair, sat a little plushie. A plushie that resembled himself, wearing the same Academy uniform that he was also wearing, sporting even his exact haircut, and whoever had made this had even thought of the little cut in his eyebrow. There was, however, a smirk on the face of the side-eyeing plushie.
“Viktor.”
“Yes, Jayce?”
Viktor did not look up from his work. Jayce pointed at the plushie. “What… is this?”
Finally, Viktor removed his goggles and glanced his way.
“Oh, that’s Baby Jayce.”
Jayce stared at Baby Jayce’s smug face, the little beady button eyes all-knowing and challenging.
“Why is Baby Jayce in my chair?”
“What do you mean? He likes it there.”
The look Viktor gave him was one of honest innocence, eyebrows drawn quizically. Jayce almost sputtered.
“But… it’s my chair! I need to work.”
“He’s doing science-”
“No, he’s not!”

Summary
“It is understandable, Jayce. You did not have time to process.” 'You had your hands full trying to stop me', he does not say. Instead, Viktor’s voice takes on a decisive note as he continues to speak. “It will work out. As I said, I did enjoy cooking. I’ll be the, ah, ‘chef extraordinaire,’ and you’ll be the brute. You bring the game, I prepare it.”
A small chuckle leaves Jayce’s mouth, surprising Viktor. “Aha. There, you said it! You do think of me as a brute.” There is not a world in which Jayce’s joy is not contagious, and Viktor finds himself smiling despite it all.

My take on how Jayce and Viktor deal with their trauma post-canon after landing in a blizzard and finding an abandoned cabin in the mountains. Chapter 1: Bonding over blankets, fishing and sharing a bed.

“Sheesh. Bossy.”

And well, the thing is, Jayce would follow Viktor to the ends of the earth.
He’d just have an easier time of it sober.

They must figure out how to survive in bodies that no longer feel like theirs and find the pieces of themselves among the wreckage of who they have been forced to become, even as this new world threatens to push them to the breaking point

Summary
Jayce stripped out of his shirt and peeled off the pads, looking at himself in the mirror. His chest was flushed, swollen, heavy with milk- practically begging for a mouth on it. He’d never taken the time to actually look before, too mortified by the whole experience to confront what was happening to his body.
If Viktor saw this- if he was disgusted because of it- he didn’t think he would ever recover. Or worse, if he saw Jayce’s overflowing feelings and had to let him down gently, admitting that he didn’t feel that way about him. It would break him, probably.

With the Defender of Tomorrow strangely absent from the public eye, Viktor finds himself neglecting his work. It’s only curiosity (and definitely not concern) that leads him right to Jayce’s balcony one cold, windy night.
What he finds isn’t the gloating inventor he’s used to-but a man drowned in melancholy, dust and whisky.

Jayce didn't do well in the cold.
He was a blacksmith, an engineer. He spent his days working in front of a forge or sweating over a soldering iron. He was too accustomed to the roiling heat, he caught a cold the second snow started to fall. That became the diplomatic excuse, when he needed to quietly and politely bow out of whatever social or fundraising event the Kiramman's had arranged, or later down the line at the endless hand-greasing galas or dinners the Man of Progress had to attend that happened to be scheduled on the first snow of the season.
Jayce fucking hated snow.

Viktor doesn’t want to be here. It had taken a lot of pleading, losing a bet, and even more pleading before Jayce had managed to drag him to the party, so, yes, of course he’s miserable.
Not that Jayce expected him not to be, though, to be fair to his partner. In all his begging he had verbally batted away Viktor’s attempts to put the words you’ll enjoy it when you get there into his mouth with an insistence that he doesn’t even enjoy these evenings much. And that Viktor owes him at least one, please, Vik, even if you hate it.
So, Viktor caved. And now he’s here. Hating every boring second.

He breathed deeply, feeling his chest tight and his heart beating wildly. Finally, he said the only thing he could, what every cell in his body had been yelling since that damn night in front of the lab board.
“Please,” he whispered. “Please. Touch me.”

Summary
After spending what it felt like an eternity trapped in the ravine, alone, starved, cold and with arcane corruption fraying his being, Jayce has come back with his mind shattered, barely able to think, much less speak, and with only one goal: to anhihilate the Herald, his partner.
Unable to do it, Jayce falls to the ground, crying desperately in Viktor's arms who will do anything in his power to heal his injuries and bring back his mind, all while trying to find out just what happened to him.

-I’m going to die right now- Jayce thought, eyes wide, mind spiraling with everything and anything. He would he trained by fucking Viktor? His old best friend, his old roommate?
The man who left him. Left everyone technically. Ghosted him, his partner, to study in some rundown fucking building with an evil ass doctor.
Jayce was livid and had been for years. But the love he still held for the man had been coated and hidden away for far too long. Not gone though. It would never be.
“Yoo hoo Jayce are you alright there lad?”

Or, Jayce is an assistant teacher to Viktor, his former best friend who he fell out with when he left to study in Zaun against Jayce’s wishes after a horrible argument. Jayce wanted to fix everything, but Viktor never gave him the chance, ignoring his apologies and leaving for good.
At least until 6 years later and here we are!!
