When Max's sister signed him up for a dating show, he imagined that he would be on The Bachelor or Love is Blind (not that he wanted to do either of those). Never in his wildest dreams did he think that Victoria would sign him up for Love Island where he would be parading around in his swim suit all summer in hopes of finding love in the middle of Spain.
Max's goal then became to be as authentic as possible, not put up with any bullshit from other islanders, and to try not to cry on national television. Before leaving, Max told his sister that he would probably end up being dumped at the first chance available. Little did he know that after this summer, he would end up admitting that maybe, just maybe, Victoria granted him the biggest gift ever by submitting an application for him.

The crowd was loud, the roaring drowning out any other sounds around. They were all cheering for a boy with a helmet.
A boy with a helmet that was basking in it all. His arms stretched out wide, jumping up and down to rile the crowd up more.

Tommy is dead... killed and beat-up by Dream. he was never coming back and Tubbo blames himself for the death of his best friend/Brother. he should've done more, done better, protected him better, or just died in exchange for his life.
"its hot" Tubbo mumbled. 'ahh, I'm running a fever...' the boy thought feeling his rising temperature and dizzy head. but its strange... he felt more heat coming from his chest than any other part of his body.
"it hurts..." its getting harder to breath. his chest is very tight, suffocating him. getting teary eyed, the heat was burning his inside. it was just to HOT!
*shaky breathes* p-please... somebody.
"I, Martha the mystic greet our star." a Woman appeared out of thin air. a wave of magic radiated from her and the heat in Tubbo's body felt more bearable, now the heat circulated throughout all of his body so its bearable but still painful.
"who are you?." the boy asked weakly.
"I am your family Tubbo. And I've come to help you in your incarnation awakening" she said
"I'm hear to take you home. in Mianite"
'Mianite... I think I remember that place... wait. no.. no, no! I can't leave the this realm yet!'

In school, they were still best friends - but, there was a little more to it. Because in school, Tubbo was on track to be Tommy’s sidekick - the two having ended up in different classes during placement, with Tommy having landed in the Hero course without his friend.
So, while the two considered each other equals, they’d be hard-pressed to find a classmate or faculty member who shared that sentiment.

Summary
Tubbo's dad is a respected scientist of the occult and unexplained, so Tubbo's seen a lot of weird shit in his day- such as his friend Ranboo, a completely normal teenager with zero hidden abilities, thank you very much. When Phil invites the two of them on a work trip to a strange discovery in the deserts of the American Southwest, Tubbo immediately ropes his best friend into a new dangerous scheme.
It results in a greater disaster than either of them could have possibly imagined.

This story isn't inspired by anything but a really weird dream I had, but my dream kind of ripped off the concept of Inhumans from marvel comics. If you think this is going to end up as a superhero au, you're wrong. Just because they develop cool powers does not mean they'll fight crime with it. They'll just make a really, really big mess.
