Seonghwa chokes on his gulp of beer, watching Hongjoong pop another handful of microwaved popcorn into his mouth. “You— You’d be willing to tell me?” he asks carefully.
Hongjoong laughs with no real joy. “It’s been what— a month and a half since you joined our little group? I think you deserve to know why I abandoned them for so long.”
In which Seonghwa moves to the city and encounters a group of boys that changes his life, and Hongjoong learns to heal and love again.

Kim Hongjoong doesn’t really know where all these extra memories are coming from, or what Nelson Mandela, of all people, has to do with it. But he is quite sure that in some universe, there is a boy who always goes with him in his late night convenience store runs - A boy who likes strawberry milk and ASMR videos and cooks him jjajangguri blanketed with fluffy omelettes, whose smiles are warm and secret and just for him.

Summary
Hongjoong’s only had a little to drink so far, a few sips at most, but the heat of the day helps to make his head hazy, his body heavy.
He lets himself look at Seonghwa. At the long expanse of his bare back, water droplets still clinging to his tan skin, dripping down from his still-wet hair from when they’d swam earlier. He’s let his hair grow long, past his chin now, and it curls delicately at the back of his neck, against the curve of his cheeks. He lets his eyes roam over his lithe figure, at his strong arms and broad shoulders and tiny little waist, at his long legs and toned thighs in his short swim trunks.
Arousal stirs somewhere deep in his gut, where he buried it years and years ago. Seonghwa looks otherworldly, ethereal, like an angel glowing in the sun. Hongjoong has to look away before he’s blinded, before Seonghwa notices him looking.
Every year at the cabin, Hongjoong tried not to look. He wanted and yearned and pined, and took lingering glances and always felt greedy for it afterwards. Eventually, the guilt always came in droves that left him drowning, from keeping these feelings locked inside of him all this time.

Summary
If they were just two humans rather than soldiers on opposing sides of an endless war, would Hongjoong let himself stare a little longer, let his mind wander a little further in the dark of night alone in bed, to sable locks and slender fingers without the icy touch he knows them to have?
In the end, entertaining an idea like that is pointless. Because Seonghwa isn’t human, and he hasn’t been for a long, long time.
But then again, now…neither is Hongjoong.

Wooyoung had swallowed hard, glancing back down at the orders to pack his things to switch units.
“It’s not like that, Youngie,” Soobin had been quick to say, clearly seeing the tears building. “We don’t want to let you go.”
“But I have to.”
Neither of them had denied that, which stung more than Wooyoung cared to admit.
_Knight Wooyoung is reassigned units after it becomes clear not everyone suffers debilitating joint pain. Unit 1117 is for rejects and hopeless cases; Wooyoung isn't going to spend any more time there than necessary. He just wants to get better and get back to his unit.
If only things were that simple.
