Derapchu is in severe debt, so now he's working at a famous company that someone by the name of Branzy Violet owns. He's now called Errand boy, he does everyone's work, gets them coffee, and allows them to walk all over him. He's silent but annoyed, he barely gets any sleep, and has a lower pay.
His boss, Wifies, is calm, composed, patient, silent, but observes everyone around him, yet the person that catches his eye is the person that gets thrown around.
There have been rumors of this company hiding something, but no one knows what. Though a certain Mafia organization called the "Unstable" has partnered with the PMC, their allegiance is slowly growing stronger, yet no civilian knows about this, except one who will find out soon

Derapchu is in a bad mood.
It's obvious to everyone — especially his friends — so they all give him a wide berth. And that does not help in the slightest.
The reason isn't dramatic or overemotional. He has to get tutoring. He doesn't even mind that part — he needs all the help he can get with calculus. The problem is that his tutor is Wifies. Wifies, who is annoying. Wifies, who has the audacity to claim that HE'S Parrot's best friend. Not Derapchu. Him.
Clearly, the universe hates him.

"Have you talked with our teacher's grandson? He brought flowers today," Mane changes the subject easily, and Flame probably allows the conversation to flow in another direction.
"Nuh uh." Mane huffs. "What kind of flowers grow in winter?"
"I dunno. It was like origami?"
"And why bring flowers at all if they're not real?"
"I dunno!" Flame turns his head with a very displeased expression on his face, and Mane chuckles. "Talk to him."
"Why?"
"I think you'll be friends." Flame knows this isn't true. Every kid he tried to befriend ended up laughing at him, fighting, and never talking again. And he doesn't want to try again, because it's stupid to expect something new from something you know never changes. "What is this face?"
Flame turns away, turning his attention back to the toy. His tail, without his permission, twitches slightly. "Nothing."

Flame doesn't like annoying people and doesn't want to have friends in general. At some point in his life, a silly boy with a loud giggle appears and constantly drags him along. Maybe this child is who he needed.

All this, Jumper has read about on her way to find a good book about the Dragon.
Many books have been written on the topic.
Most fail at getting even the barest facts about the wasteland corrrect, let alone saying anything factually proven about the Dragon.
What little she finds burried deep in the darkest parts of the library is more about the dangers of the wasteland itself. The further you venture into it, the more the world corrupts. She reads the the shadow creatures and the lack of a life, the cold freezing blood in your veins and how your magic core no longer refills.
Or: Jumper and her team venture out to slay the Dragon responsible for the Wasteland at the edge of the world. Nothing is what it seems.
