Merlin shushed the kitten and made a face at Arthur, apologetic. “Sorry, I didn't mean to frighten you.” He spoke, and Arthur could physically feel his heart skipping at the deep, rich tone of his voice. It went entirely against all his expectations.
Arthur cleared his throat and squared his shoulders, recollecting himself.
“It’s alright, you didn't scare me.” He lied, his face feeling warm.
Merlin eyed him and squinted slightly, dubiously. The corners of his stupidly plush, pink lips tugged up. He looked amused.

Leon had always known that he would never be in real trouble for speaking in any way to Arthur. Not like he would have with Uther. But there had still been consequences — namely, brutal beatdowns in training. Now that their Round Table had diminished, he and Percival had grown unbelievably close, hardened by loss and the task to keep their friends’ memories alive. They had also discovered that Arthur had become a big softie with them, and that they could pretty much get away with anything.
So he paused in his laughter to say, “We’ve been waiting for a proposal so long I think we’ve missed it altogether.”

“Merlin you’re not a fighter. You’re a lover. Despite all odds, you‘re full of compassion and wonder, and love for everyone and everything. Fighting, war, killing changes that. It’s not a bad thing to not be fit to be a knight.”
“I have seen my fair share of horrors.” Merlin said, voice full of acid. So it was true he did think Merlin was weak. Merlin wanted to scream at him I am the most powerful sorcerer in all of Albion. I am fire and fury. I am the last Dragon Lord!

"Can't you watch where you're going?!" Arthur snapped.
"You ran into me!" the other man exclaimed, incredulous, and Arthur stilled because he knew that voice. And that accent.
He looked up and found himself face to face with a flushed, indignant Merlin Emrys, tour shirt drenched with coffee. Bloody hell.
"That shirt is Dior," was all that came out of Arthur's mouth, without his permission, and the singer's face hardened.
"Well, bugger for you," Merlin snapped. "Might have to wear off the rack, for a change, like the rest of us. Maybe the money you saved with that could go to your precious charity."
Arthur blinked, the blow of the other man's words not even hitting him before he heard Gwen Smith shriek from down the corridor.
"Merlin! You can't say that to the Prince of Wales, oh my God!"
Merlin is the lead singer of the popular British band called Sorcerers & Knights. Arthur is the Prince of Wales. Their paths cross and destiny unfolds.
