"The idea is really very simple," Jim starts, "two people compete in order to win Izzy's affections. Whoever seduces Izzy the fastest wins."
Or: Stede and Edward lose a few games of rock, paper, scissors and ending up competing to see who can seduce Izzy quickest. Izzy, understandably, quickly becomes utterly baffled with everyone's behaviour.

“Hell yea Stede! That was great!” Stede jumped from shock and spun around, swinging his sword blindly, until he realized Ed had said that. He blushed and turned to survey the ship they had pillaged. Almost all of the sailors were dead. Jim and Olu were dealing with the hostages.
“Thank you I learned from the best.” It was Ed’s turn to blush now and he glanced away from Stede to hide his flusteredness. Stede hadn’t noticed and went on complimenting Ed’s teaching skills. Causing Ed to just get more and more flustered. It got so bad that Stede cut himself off to ask if Ed was doing alright.
