Summary
Adrien runs away.
After a particularly bad fight with his father, Adrien decides to run away from home. His friends are searching, the police suspect foul play, and Gabriel starts to spiral. Meanwhile, Marinette can’t help but notice that something’s different about Chat Noir—he’s almost always around somewhere, ‘on patrol’ (wandering aimlessly), or scrounging around for food (much to the chagrin of local alley cats). Mordred’s gaze stared at him blankly, all fight and emotion drained out of his body, his visage more akin to that of a corpse than a young boy. “It’s you, you’re the king from the prophecy.”
Arthur blinked. That made even less sense. “You must be mistaken.”
“I’m not. Emrys chose you, the Druids know it.”
“But wouldn’t I know?” Arthur narrowed his eyes. “This seems kind of important. I think I would know.”
Morgana intervenes early and Arthur winds up captured on an Angle ship with Mordred for company. Neither of them is particularly enthusiastic about this, but with Morgana's presence growing and Mordred's hands in iron chains, Arthur may be forced to face realities he did not wish challenged and use methods he condemned - even magic.
