Summary
Cloche blinks, hiccups, and opens her mouth to speak, but the sound that comes out is somewhat strangled, slightly lower-pitched, and much less self-assured. It is most decidedly not Cloche's voice.
"Why..."
The kneeling Maiden of Mio, collectively, tilts their head back and howls at the sky. The entwined chorus, the echo of their single voice, vibrates and shrieks through the empty stone, sending birds scattering from their perches high above.
"Why am I still heeeeeeeeeere!!"Cloche makes an impulse decision; Infel gets a second chance; the Maiden of Mio becomes a binary star. Dragged back into this world against her will, with the success of Metafalica and the permanent disappearance of Nenesha, Infel must learn to live on after losing her very reason for existing.
But doing so while sharing a body and mind with Cloche, her direct successor and the embodiment of the hope she had long since abandoned, makes matters of identity and existence quite complicated. Thankfully, she is never alone.
