i am a huge sucker for found family stories
the hearth storyline in particular and its fallout kind of made me cry lots so there's that too
but tl;dr is tbate rewrite, starring the author's self-insert (sort of, toren becomes his own character). many non-characters from the original get really fleshed out too - and just, i think DN captures that lightning in a bottle vol. 8-9 got while also just improving on the original story as a whole in spades. specifically character relationships or lack thereof, and just making the world a believable setting and touching parts the original never got to. it's a really cool premise and i'm kind of sad that it never finished but i liked it nonetheless

There are a couple of unnamed Lionguard in Lion's Arch that joke about being stuck in the Labyrinth after Halloween comes to an end. I thought it would be fun to write a piece from their perspective, imagining what it would be like to be trapped with all the monsters and mobs.
Caeliana Swordsplitter was bored of standing around watching other people have fun. On the last night of Halloween, she and her colleague Eric finished their shift on the plaza and took a trip through one of the spooky doors. They found themselves in The Labyrinth, a realm under the dominion of the maniacal King Thorn. At first, the duo found fun amongst the festive candy elementals. But soon the creepy atmosphere of the realm started to affect them, and the horrors lurking in the depths of The Labyrinth tested even Caeliana's resolve.

An AU where vampire and demons still exist, but so does werewolves, kitsune, and other supernatural being, and Asuramaru is a neko, instead being a demon. Yuu is also young adult in this setting, so he's slightly older than in the canon. Written in Yuu's perspective. Containing mature language, especially since this is Yuu speaking here.
Containing smut, including clear depicting of sexual scene and vulgar language. Fair warning, it's also quite kinky, especially considering their relationship that's basically pet play, but with an actual cat boy.
