L already knows who Kira is- himself. However, when L realizes there may be another Death Note out there somewhere, and that someone else is pulling the strings, he accepts the case, hoping to stop the other Kira and hide his little secret.
But when he finally comes into contact with the other Kira, he suddenly has to choose between leaving him for dead or teaming up with him to remake the world.
Why, oh why, does that boy with the beautiful hazel eyes make his heart melt?

Summary
After being held hostage for years, K, a former student of Wammy's House, finds a way to participate in the investigation of Kira alongside L and Watari, with the secret hope that they can set her and Bjarne free from the criminal organization which has been hunting her down almost all her life. However, she must first make amends for the serious crimes for which the Wammy's House director and star pupil accuse her. What secrets lurk in her past? And which is the role of Nate River in all of this?
This tale, in which several characters are OCs (starting with the protagonist), is an alternative to the canonical investigation of the first seven volumes of the manga, exploring in part an imaginary past of the students of Wammy's House, L's family and origins, and an alternative concept of justice to that of the two famous protagonists. The enemy to be faced is not Kira alone; the successful outcome of the investigation will therefore depend on L and K's ability to come to terms with their past.
The sparse descriptions, the purely dialogic and monologic form and the sudden change of point of view try to echo the narrative style of the anime, from which several scenes are taken.Series

Summary
Light Yagami is a rising detective with conviction and ambition, but in a world where the law isn’t always enough to deliver justice, he operates outside the rules. When he receives a cryptic note from the enigmatic L, his curiosity leads to a meeting that sets off a series of events, pulling them both into a shifting web of corruption. Forced into a reluctant partnership, they begin unraveling a dangerous conspiracy with dire consequences for the justice system.
In this alternate universe where death notes don’t exist, Light has found other ways to assert control. L, drawn to Light’s intelligence and determination, has his own reasons for becoming involved. What begins as a reluctant alliance soon turns into something more complex. As they work together, the lines between right and wrong blur in unexpected ways.
Can Light outsmart L and maintain control, or will he become trapped in a web far more intricate than he anticipated? As their partnership deepens, trust grows, and their connection evolves, neither could foresee how their feelings would shift the balance in ways they can’t control. In a world where justice is elusive, their bond will be tested in ways neither predicted.

L tried to ignore the pit in her stomach, she really did. She passed it off as just pains, then cramps, then everything under the sun that could possibly be it to deny the truth she knew. It was unavoidable: she was hungry.

Summary
L isn’t dead. That’s just what he needs Light Yagami to think.
From Light’s perspective, everything goes just as planned- but L isn’t as dead as Kira thinks he is, and with a protective shinigami reluctantly on his side, he may just be able to catch Light out once and for all.

Summary
Then — then something feels wrong, something thick runs down his leg — different to the thinness of water, slower, dripping in slow pivots. It’s wrong, so terribly different that Light forces himself to look downwards.
Blood, is his first thought. His second, is that it's running in rivets down his leg, thinning out from water to drip onto the floor in light splashes. The further up, the thicker, the darker and it’s so horribly foreign that a semi-truck of shock hits his throat, oesophagus and trachea to constrict tightly.
Oh, Light thinks a little manically, all wires crossing to blare the sound of panic, panic, panic in his every nerve. Shit.
He tilts his head, spine twisting, monstrously cold at the way his body suddenly feels so real, to look at the scattered trail behind him, ending at the spot he had been just a few steps away from the shower. Blood red, staining the tile floor.
“L?” Light calls, measured in every way he can conceive. Any inflection he has, he smothers to death.
(Or, L and Light discuss philosophy to distract Light from the fact that he’s currently bleeding out over a toilet. It’s as weird as it sounds, but it works for them)

In which Beyond Birthday isn't killed offscreen by Kira and instead invades the Second Kira arc... very, very briefly. Surprisingly, this is less because of either Kira than because he made the mistake of running headlong into one of L's lesser-known Batman parallels.
Or: BB kidnaps Near to get L's attention. Nobody enjoys this - in the end, not even Beyond himself.

Summary
“No,” L says simply. “I have only found that being relaxed helps me sleep better, but that is so with most people, and I find it distinctly difficult to identify when I am relaxed, so I am open to any ideas that you may have.”
And — and Light truly takes a moment to comb through the litany of information he has gathered obsessively over the years; hours of clicking through websites, days spent combing through entire sections of libraries, weeks spent in the biology department of his university — the human body, a fascinating organism that produces, creates and reacts from chemicals and environments; fighting foreign substances and fighting itself when it needs to.
The intimate feeling of blood rushing through his wrists and organs sitting in his torso feels heavier than ever. “What about skin to skin contact?”
L stills, locked in motion, face only showing traces of emotion through his eyes slightly cracking wider; an instinctual reaction borne from needing to widen the visual field if the body reacts to something it perceives as dangerous.
(Or, Light’s fascination with the human body and L’s lack of boundaries crash together. Surprisingly, it doesn’t end badly.)

Summary
In a slightly happier world where the Death Notes are less used, the brilliant detective L and first-year college student/NPA volunteer Light solve cases the world over without much challenge at all. To alleviate the boredom of their simpler work as the Kira case lies dormant, each independently takes up a vastly more trivial but surprisingly difficult mission in his free time: Light wants to scare off the mysterious, eerie brat who dares to take his baby sister on secret dates, while L wants to protect his baby brother from the highly irregular misfortune that seems to ensue whenever he hangs out with this new friend of his. With the two of them going all-out in a battle of wits, the task force - or even the city - might be in trouble before long...
(Near doesn't really get the point of this whole endeavour, but after a fashion Sayu is elated about the sheer number of embarrassing stories and photos she'll be able to trot out at their big brothers' eventual wedding.)

Summary
When Light last looked up at Ryuk, his death imminent, he could feel the flames of hell licking at his skin. When he woke he finally realised that to be reborn he first had to be destroyed. Now he gets another chance at his ideal world and is ready to claim his throne, with L rightfully beside him.
Light knows now that he wasn't justice. L was the scale that weighed the right and wrong and Light was action, execution and influence. They would need to be together, united, for Light's kingdom.
Unfortunately Light wasn't the only one reborn anew.
