Summary
Clarabelle Clay was well aware she was rather odd. Off-putting. Weird. A freak. She hadn’t been aware of this fact until she was about six years old. When her life is up-ended and her food can't even touch without her wanting to cry, and her brothers friends are being so loud, one strange purple man has what is counted, in his books, as a full conversation with the youngest Clay sibling.

Touching Sentiments (Chronological) by Chanse (SpottedEnchants)
Fandom: Critical Role: Exandria (Web Series)
29 Aug 2025
Summary
The Mighty Nein are very comfortable with one another, boundaries established and reconfigured and settled well before Essek finally joins them.
Casual touch is a given with them; proximity was a necessity for safety in their early days. This, however, stands in stark contrast with Essek’s many decades. Walls, barriers, layers, space. Separation kept Essek safe.
It’s not that he hates touch, no. It had simply grown unbearable after so long without. Unexpected or held for too long, it burned.
And then they won him over, slowly, over time, as they are wont to do. Rather, he is one of them now.

Summary
Once Nila and her son and her husband had waved goodbye and begun to make their way through the Savalirwood back in the direction of Shadycreek Run, Clarabelle allowed herself to finally breakdown, the heartache and sadness that pulsed in her lungs like pollen in spring since returning home enough to bring her to her knees.
All Clarabelle could utter through her heaving gasps and the tears that wracked through her was, "I'm a bad sister."

The plants would sway just the same had Essek instead fallen—and stayed down—alongside the Mighty Nein’s success, despite their implicit forbiddance; the air’s levity does nothing to lift shame from shoulders.
The world is unchanged.

Summary
Caduceus has been home with his family for a month now, and it's been a perfect adjustment. Just great, absolutely wonderful. He definitely doesn't miss any of the Nein to the point of heartache and even if he did he wouldn't feel guilty about it. All of his siblings are also perfect and completely well-adjusted and trauma free, and everything is back to exactly 100% the way it was before they left.
A late-night argument leads to some spontaneous hair care and a much needed conversation.

Summary
Caduceus nodded with that pensive smile of his as he methodically began pouring the perfect amount of tea into each cup. "What about you, Caduceus?" Clarabelle asked politely as she lifted the cup in her hands, letting the steam warm her face. "How did She steer you to the Dust's?"
"Oh," Caduceus said. "I died."
Colton choked on his tea.

Summary
"Caduceus walks as quickly as he can back home, and he thinks about flatmates who are at once too much and not enough. He thinks about arms, wrapped tight around his back, and about himself, a bedroom ghost, sitting in a room that’s not entirely his, and won’t ever be."
𓆱
In which Caduceus has started a textiles course, because he needed to get out of a house he hadn't left in years. Because.. he's not sure. He's trying to figure it out. It's a lot though, and friends are hard to come by.
Things change, though, when he meets Beauregard at the library and she offers him a room at the housing co-op she and her friends are setting up. There's connection there, but still... it's a lot. And, still, he's not sure what he's doing away from home at all.- Language:

Summary
"Caduceus eyes Eadwulf as he places his hands on his hips, and raises his eyebrows yet again.
“I think you should get back to work, Mister Grieve,” he says, pulling his shovel free from the loose earth. “And stop kicking my plants. Have a little respect... They’ve been damaged enough already.”
Eadwulf huffs, almost a laugh. “Caught you on a bad day?” he asks. There’s a smirk on his face, and a spark beneath Caduceus’ ribs that doesn’t dissipate this time — instead it catches alight. And Caduceus slaps Eadwulf square across the face."
---
in which caduceus gets to do a little violence, as a treat.
a fix-it/missing scene in a way, i suppose. mostly because in episode 141 when caduceus yelled at eadwulf i thought for just a second he was going to straight up attack him, and i think that wouldve slapped (haha) so.. i wrote a thing. but then it turned out angstier than i meant it to.. but who is surprised abt that?

Summary
"I'm from the Blooming Grove," Caduceus tries to tell the Blacksmith with the blank look on his face. "Uh, you might know it as the Bone Orchard."
"Sound's familiar," The half-orc says, rubbing his head.
"I thought it might," Caduceus doesn't sigh even though he wants to. He leans down to Jester and whispers in her ear. "I never liked that name. It never stuck."

Summary
After years and years of isolation Caduceus had spent practically every waking hour in boisterous and exuberant company. Now sometimes even gentle voices felt too loud, and it made him feel ungrateful that he desperately needed a little bit of that solitude back, to organize his thoughts and calm his emotions and try to make sense of what he really meant when he said he was home.
