Summary
An odd craft was on one of the landing platforms. Aeris tried to make sense of the vehicle as dock-workers began unloading. Another glimpse of the curiosity as she took the elevator up to her assigned accommodation where she dropped her bag on her bed and threw back her curtains. A vast expanse of sea stretched out beyond the bay, rendered near black in the darkness. Floating in the glare of floodlights was an airship.
The craft strained against the ropes tethering it to the landing platform. If she cut those lines, would the airship drift away like a leaf on the wind? What would it be like to fly in that craft? Different. It had to be different to the Gelnikas. Maybe not as fast, but freer, gentler; an open deck lay below the bulk of the craft. A perfect vantage point to see the world from as the airship flew above it. Freedom; it was right there in front of her.
Ifalna escaped Shinra but was unable to take her daughter with her. Years later, Aeris Gast now works as a lab technician for Hojo with no effective method of escape. While shipping samples to Junon she finds a new possibility; an airship.

Summary
Aeris’s first planned adventure was an easy choice. Retrace the path Avalanche took around the world – up to the same point their steps diverged from hers. Once there she could take the step beyond and complete the journey she missed out on. Cid muttered something about not getting stranded and a few days later handed her a satellite phone.
Aeris takes an opportunity to recreate and re-live Avalanche's journey across the Planet.

Summary
The first ghost slid in front of her. An approximation of walking, of human movement, but rendered somehow wrong by a last tenacious defiance before the spirit merged back into the Lifestream. A human who diverted from their path; they should be seeking out a loved one in their final dwindling moments. Instead they clustered to her, like moths to a flame.
Aeris regularly pulls away from Avalanche for what they assume is praying.

Summary
Despite her many years working at the Seventh Heaven, Tifa was not one for drinking. She would have a glass of wine with dinner or on some other social occasion, but she was happy staying sober and coherent. Happier to serve than consume. Going out with Aeris was something else; Aeris enjoyed drinking. Wine, elaborate cocktails- basically anything but actual beer. Her natural exuberant self enhanced by the drink and thus; more talking.
Aeris has been drinking and wants to tell Tifa something.

Summary
Aeris reckoned relationships would be something she got to when she was older. At some point they would make sense, but somehow she never seemed to reach a sufficient age. The concept seemed forever beyond the curve of plausibility. All around her the people she grew up with lusted after other people in a way she did not. She enjoyed making out, but the implied spark from fiction never struck her the way it did other people. She supposed she had not found the right person yet. Or she simply might not think along those kind of lines.
Aeris is not sure what she wants to do with her life.

Summary
She pointed. The cave roof above them glowed with pin-pricks of light. A river of light stretched from the cave entrance across the roof and down to the far wall. Tributaries branched off along its length, these offshoots thinning out, leaving whorls and clusters of light before fading to nothing. “There are stars here.”
Rain prevents seeing the stars directly; Aeris and Tifa make do.

Summary
The decision to split the party had not come easily, but there was little choice. They needed to stop Shinra destroying the giant materia – not least given the rarity and potential power of the crystals. But on top of that, the best calculations of explosive yield anyone in Cosmo Canyon could compute, a Giant Materia explosion far short of sufficient to destroy something the size of Meteor. And that was not getting into if anything so mundane could damage the magical space rock. Shinra took no notice of any such warnings; why would they? They had a tendency to only ever react to circumstances. Much like the destruction of Sector Seven and the near execution of Barret, the current plan to launch Aeris’s rocket right at the falling rock was right in line with expectations.
Tifa (ex-SOLDIER) has recovered from her fall into the Lifestream in time to help strike back at Shinra and their plans for the Giant Materia.

Summary
The first time Aeris walked on grass was the morning after they arrived in Kalm. The group delayed until they had gathered supplies and provisions for the trek ahead. Grass was amazing; so much of it and growing so easily. The notion of walking on it never occurred to her before; in Midgar she had the choice of poisoned ground or damaging her flowers.

Summary
The Maiden was pure – and in remaining pure could engineer a victory over the forces of darkness. A noble victory at the cost of her own life. But did the opposite hold true? Was it possible to use the novel’s themes in a perverse manner, make the text an inverted guide to corruption instead of purity? How not to wind up like the Maiden. If her power rested on purity, Aeris would give into corruption.

A really good story that I feel knows Aeris' character better than the FFVII compilation did.

Summary
"Isn't it remarkable, Aeris?" The voice was gentle, warm but tinged with sadness. "This world is full of so many possibilities. Each living thing has an entirely unique experience. The sights they see. The sounds they hear. The lives they live... are so complicated. And so simple. I can't wait for you to join them." Another rattle and the image whirled now pointed in the opposite direction. A women with long, brown hair and a red dress stared out of the screen. "Aeris; we can't both exist. I'm going to become half of you. And I need you to know that every moment you love being yourself; that's me loving you and loving being you. Because you're going to be something extraordinary. You're going to be a human being. Take care of them, Aeris." The woman smiled and the rattling came again as the view skewed and then vanished into static.
As they traveled the Planet, dancing brought them closer.

Summary
The small red cub let out a plaintive mewl as her mother's rough tongue nearly enveloped her. She squirmed and shifted as Deneh continued to clean her daughter before she moved onto her son. Nanaki lay beside his partner, watching as she diligently washed their children despite her obvious exhaustion and the slightly awkward pose had wound up in.
Nanaki watches Deneh caring for their newborn children and reminisces.
