Summary
The worst day of Kai’s life, once upon a time, was the day his parents vanished. The day he woke up in his bed, long after he was supposed to, and was met with an empty house. The day he spent hours searching, calling out, looking for his parents, a baby sister at his side.
The worst day of Kai’s life was the day he lost everything he had. His parents, his childhood, his education. The day his world crumbled around him without any hope of being rebuilt the way it was.
That was the worst day of Kai’s life. He assumed, from that day til this one, that it couldn’t get much worse than. He had been wrong.
The worst day of Kai’s life comes over thirteen years after that day his parents disappeared. His sister, Nya, who he has raised since she was three years old, and he was six, turns into water in front of his eyes.

Unlike the others, who managed to keep their composure, these two former allies spiraled into desperation. Jay delved into dark magic, seeking forbidden power, while Kai unleashed his anger through brute force, determined to manipulate time itself to reclaim Nya. Realizing the danger their friends posed to themselves and the world, the remaining ninja knew they had to intervene before Kai and Jay crossed a point of no return.

Kai and Jay both have different ways of cooping with Nya’s death. One dwells on it and one denies it. With Jay struggling to keep his spirit up because of this whole situation, he forgets that Kai has feelings too. Kai on the other hand is in huge denial about his sister’s death.

Kai refuses to go to Nya’s funeral in order to keep himself grounded and Jay hates him for it. What selfish little guys.

Done for now, I’m aware I should probably do crystallized in my AU and I have plans to, but I unfortunately don’t have the time nor the motivation. Screw writers block, and kudos to all those fanfic writers who finish their series, I wish I was you. (12/31/2024)
