Summary

Kent looks at Eric again, and apparently he's done with the polite hinting.
"Could we maybe get some fuckin' privacy?" He snaps, directing it half at Eric and half at Jack.
Eric just raises an eyebrow and looks up at Jack. Jack looks back down at him.
"He's fine," Jack says to Kent. "Whatever you've got to say, you can say it in front of him."

Summary
When Kent and Jack were racing toward the National Hockey SuperLeague, they made lies of the vampire-werewolf rivalry and crossed bonds with each other, sharing their emotions at will. But Jack’s fear of his wolf got the better of him, and Kent went to the draft alone in body and mind.
Years later, Kent starts receiving Jack's emotions again. Jack's happy at college, and Kent's glad to feel it. But when glimpses aren’t enough, he goes to visit, and finds a cheery blonde fae has Jack wrapped sinisterly around his finger. Though he knows he may lose Jack forever over it, Kent challenges Eric Bittle, binding them together until one stands victorious, with Jack the prize.
A vampire, a werewolf, and a fae walk into a lake house. There may be more than one bed, but there is also garlic, and iron, and fangs. And eventually, Kent starts to realize that he may be wrong about more than just Eric.

Summary
The silence stretches, syrupy and slow as Lisa considers, looking uncharacteristically hesitant. “Mr. Parson, Kent, when I was reviewing the right up from the officers and paramedics who found you, there were some… inconsistencies.”
Kent doesn’t know how to answer that, fixing his gaze forward.
“Apparently in these types of accidents-” she says the word delicately “-there’s swerving, a result of the drunk driver’s confusion. Once they realize they’re off the road, there’s some sort of over correction, skid, and then the impact is made.”
Kent might not have full memories of the night, it might be a blur, but he knows what she’s getting at before she even finishes her conjecture, can still feel the cold clarity of it.
