Also focuses on Cyn's relationships with the other drones (V, J, N,) and Tessa.

Worker Drone Cyn thought she was done for. Until the Solver found her, and gave her a second chance at life.
Tessa James Elliot thought she was just rescuing a regular abandoned Worker Drone. Until drones around the manor began disappearing, and Cyn's creepy behaviour continued to escalate.
J has a bad feeling. V doesn't know how to feel. N is too kind for is own good.
Tessa can’t even begin to grasp what Cyn is or what she’s done, but doesn't have the heart to discard her.
Neither does Cyn.

J has had an accomplished career. She was such a good jobber. If the slain were stocks, J was the entire exchange. And exchange she did, countless lives and even entire planets for the promise that her team would survive intact, physically at least, until...until...until...
It was not the most pleasant of deals, and no one on her team was really happy with it, or each other, but it kept them all alive, together, and with some semblance of themselves. It endured until that Uzi creature somehow tricked N and eliminated J, then corrupted V as well. A major setback, but if J just redoubled her efforts to add value, surely she could negotiate for her teammates, or at least for herself, that she might stay on the winning team. There was no chance they could beat Cyn.Except they did. J made the safest possible bet and lost. There's no more Cyn, no more purpose, no one who even pretends to want her around. There's nothing left for her, except a ship to repair. But there's nowhere to take the ship to. In the flickering light of a torch, there's at long last a choice.

My secondary AU with a very different post-canon, J is still haunted by her trauma ghosts but instead of just shutting down the ghosts help her keep going, and she eventually starts building them all bodies, Nori, who got stuck out in the snow and was freezing to death slightly after the core exploded, was eventually found by a few ghosts and then they brought J to her as well, the ships grow from there (don't like, don't interact, any needless hate will be deleted ❤️), and J also adopts Doll, I'm sure she'll meet back up with the main squad sometime after her little family gets their bodies back :3 (Megetron69 was the first registered User to leave kudos (again), Igottagowalkmyfish was the second (already got first before), and Sillystarlight was the third, congrats three shout-outs this time because the first two have already gotten shout outs before lol)

As the pigtailed disassembly drone got up to fly up through the hole she fell, she noticed two things. The first one being a familiar long, dark indigo haired worker drone corpse, laying dangerously close to the now, rotting flesh pit’s edge. And the second thing being a vulnerable drone’s core, laying in the center of a pool of oil and scattered human bones.
