Coriolanus is not a hater, contrary to what everyone always says. He’s not. He dislikes things, sure. He’s an extremely particular person, always has been. But he’s not a hater.

All this to say: he really fucking hates Marcus.

They did not always agree on what made a good experience or a good meal or a good movie, but they didn’t have to. It was the togetherness that mattered. Coriolanus would eat a hundred plates made of foods that burned his esophagus if it meant he was with Sejanus.

None of that could be achieved with Sejanus at his side, with any man at his side.

Maybe, he prayed, when he stayed the night in Strabo Plinth’s minimalist apartment, listening to Sejanus breathe evenly in his sleep.

Showing Sejanus was akin to baring his soul. Look, here is poor Coriolanus and his too-short bed. Here is orphaned Coriolanus and the only two photos he has of his mother. Here is broken Coriolanus, who had not known love until he met you.

He sat on Coriolanus’ sinking mattress and took Coriolanus’ worn, torn stuffed animal into his lap. He smiled down at the poor broken thing, petting over its scruffy ears. “I think it suits you,” he said, because he’d always seen Coriolanus so clearly.

Sejanus grabbed Coriolanus’ hand in his, crushing his fingers in his strong grip. “You’re my best friend, Coryo.”

Coriolanus felt himself nod. What else could he do? “And you’re mine.”

Sejanus was coming back to Coriolanus. Sejanus would always come back to Coriolanus.

And Coriolanus would always come back to him.

“I know why Sejanus loves you so much.”

“Oh, yeah? Does it have anything to do with all the gay jokes you made about us in high school?”

Any bullying was always pointed more at Sejanus than Coriolanus, but proximity had him caught in the crossfire. Sejanus, though, was the kind of guy to answer with and so what if I am? when the other boys in the locker room taunted him with limp wrists and masturbatory gestures. Coriolanus admired that about him, his bravery, his pluck. He still does.

Seeing Sejanus, even just the skin of his spine, it’s like coming home.

By summer, he’d confessed his love by choosing the same university as Coriolanus. I want to be where you are.

“You might have forgotten, but I have this pretty great boyfriend who keeps threatening to propose.”

It’s true. Coriolanus has his father’s wedding ring tucked away in a drawer.

When the right moment comes around, Sejanus says.

When I finally get up the courage, Coriolanus thinks, privately. When I’m finally brave enough to tell the world who I am.

An easy-going guy with no controlling personality traits whatsoever. He sounds fucking wonderful.

None of that stops him from hating Marcus, though.

      […]

It’s his dead horse and he’ll stop beating it when he wants to.

Coriolanus had not been his first. Coriolanus was not the first man in his life.

And, if Marcus has his way, he might not be the last.

“My first time picking out furniture. My first time falling asleep beside someone. My first time talking about marriage…”

Sejanus kisses him again. Always so indulgent, his wonderful Sejanus. Festus and the others used to call him Coriolanus’ rescue dog, a pet project, a Pretty Woman situation. They used to joke that Coriolanus was refining Sejanus, shining him into something worthwhile. More often, Coriolanus thinks it might be the other way around.

Coriolanus’ hands slide further up his warm sweatshirt, up his back, and trace a set of shapes along his spine: C-O-R-I-O-L-A-N-U-S. “But you were my first real friend, Coryo. The first I ever had.”

      Oh, that’s satisfying.

Maybe he is a hater. Maybe he’s the biggest hater. He hates everything about Marcus. […] That he knew Sejanus intimately before Coriolanus did, that he tasted him and fucked him and somehow still left him. The inch of height he has on Coriolanus.

Oh, he’s so lovely. Coriolanus wishes he’d followed him to the bathroom. But no matter; they’re going home together tonight, and every night, for the rest of their lives. He has that ring in his drawer, just waiting, after all.

In the palm of her wrinkled hands sat the aforementioned tape. Visually uninteresting, reminiscent of the seventy or so other tapes that currently sit in an archival storage vault in the Capitol. But apparently it was more than what it seemed.

    Summary

Coriolanus Snow thought life had one meaning. To win. To play the hand that life had dealt him so well, that no one ever realised the cards he'd been dealt. The cards that left him a penniless omega in a world where wealth and status meant everything. But in the wake of the 10th Hunger Games, when his fragile house of cards looks set to fall. Maybe he could find new meaning in it all.

Basically this is the plot of Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes but it’s omegaverse and Snowjanus have been sleeping together for years.

Coriolanus is not melodramatic, contrary to the scene he’d just caused in the bar.

No one in his life, apart from his grandmother, had ever described him as such. His friends would count him as calm, cool, and collected. Somewhat controlling. Charming. Good in a crisis.

There are only three people in the world who know what a neurotic mess his brain is: the Grandma’am, Tigris, and Sejanus.

    Summary

After the two of them head onto the floor, Coral gets ready to start a shit-talking session (starting with Lucy Gray’s old-ass combat boots that cannot be practical to work a full shift in), only for Dill to immediately turn to her and Tanner with wide eyes.

“Oh my God,” she breathes. “That’s Lucy Gray.”

“No shit,” Coral answers bluntly. Normally it’s hard to be mean to Dill, but there are two minutes left on her break and she’s too pissed to mince words.

Dill shakes her head. “No, I mean – she’s famous. Sort of. Like, online?”

“Guess there’s no money in Internet fame anymore,” Coral snarks.

(or: coral stubbornly refuses to like lucy gray, the newest hire at gem of panem café, until she finds someone that she might hate even more – lucy gray's tall, blonde, annoying-ass boyfriend.)

    Summary

A girl from District 7. Plain and irrelevant. By some twisted fate, she gets reaped to the Hunger Games along with a boy she knew very well. He didn't knew her though except her name and that she carves the wood logs that him and his crew chop. Getting to know her might be his biggest mistake because he could never kill her by then. How could he? You're from home and you became one for him during these sick and twisted days.

“This is an absurd way to die,” Sejanus said.

Coriolanus didn’t have anything appropriate to say to that. “I brought you an oatmeal cookie.”

Sejanus laughed again. His classmates had called some of the other tributes mentally ill, but it seemed like Coriolanus’ was the first to snap.

    “Coriolanus Snow.”

Maybe he’d always known it would happen. After all, his father was slaughtered by the rebels, and his mother killed by them less directly, it must have been fate for him to die by their hand as well. He stood, keeping his face unchanged as he walked up to the stage, taking his place beside the other tributes.

    Summary

When Coriolanus was younger, he sometimes believed that he was inherently unlucky or perhaps cursed.

Maybe, he would say to himself, all the ghosts of those lives his father’s weapons had ended were out to get him. He does not believe in celestial writings or haunting specters or silly things like fate, but in some of his more devastating moments it helps to have something to blame.

Coriolanus becomes a father at the age of seventeen. One lapse of judgement changes the course of history.

The Challengers/TBOSAS crossover that we didn't know we needed.

"He's not a scholarship kid," the dark-skinned kid to his left scoffed. Coriolanus thinks his name is Marcus, but he doesn’t remember for sure; he’s also relatively new at the academy. "He's a Plinth, dumbass. He's so rich he could probably buy you."
    Coriolanus pauses. A Plinth?
"Alessandra Plinth's son?" Coriolanus asks in a carefully nonchalant tone.
    "The very same."
His mother had won thirteen Grand Slams before retiring to start a family with her husband, Strabo Plinth, a wealthy weapons manufacturer.
    "His name is Sejanus."
Coriolanus looks up at the new kid hitting with one of their coaches; carefully and discreetly, he watches Sejanus return hit after hit. With satisfaction, he notices his form is nowhere near as clean or proper as the other boys at this school, including Coriolanus', but it is powerful and scarily accurate. The coach praises him and Sejanus just smirks, a very confident and at ease 15-year-old who was probably handed a tennis racket immediately after his mother had given birth to him. A tennis racket and a silver spoon in his mouth, Coriolanus can't help but think bitterly.

He thought about Marcus on some NHL team, and he thought about himself in a few years at the Olympics, and about medals they could bring home together. He thought about a life that could be summed up in moments like that over the years. And Sejanus liked that life. He liked it, really.

Or: Sejanus is a figure skater, Marcus is a hockey player. They skated in the same ice rink as kids, and the rest is history.
