Chara saw Clover study their face. It didn’t move. They frown. They frown. When was the last time Chara had seen that? They never frowned. When they were upset, their face fell blank. They’ve seen them angry, happy… afraid. But genuinely upset? Sad? It tore them apart knowing they had caused Clover to frown after so much time without. Their following words hurt worse.

Very sweet, I love Chara and Frisk’s relationship and seeing Frisk try to step into Chara’s shoes while sorely missing them is really cool. In lives like Frisk and Chara’s you gotta learn to roll with the punches, and it feels almost sweet to watch them do just that, what they’ve always done. Keep moving forward. After opening it I honestly forgot is was actually a oneshot but was gonna save it as one anyway because despite being a beginning portion of an implied larger story, it works perfectly for what it is and I wouldn’t want it any other way.

Chara died, and wake up again as a ghost, the first thing they see is a monster trying to kill a human kid, so they make the most reasonable assumption they can think of: The human did something so evil even nice monsters want to kill them. (they're wrong) They will do something about it even if they can't interact with the world, other than talking to the human, they just need a good enough plan... they just have to be creative!
Frisk just fell in a hole and now there are people trying to kill them and also they're haunted... which sounds worse than it is, because they are haunted by this... small kid, who probably can just talk to them and nothing else, the one problem is that they keep telling them to go fight someone for some reason, and they are being very annoying about it...
...Anyway basically Chara is a small gremlin child that gives Frisk headache occasionally... sometimes... usually... they'll be freinds eventually. (didn't take that long, honestly)
