“Hm, yes, that is fine, Light-kun,” L said in a rather dismissive tone before continuing quickly, “But are you sure you want me to pick where we go next?”
It wasn’t that L was opposed to the idea, he was just surprised. After all, why was Light entrusting him with a decision such as this? He didn’t even know what kind of date Light would want to go on… was he more old-fashioned and only liked dinner dates? Or did he want to do something different this time, like go to the movies?
“Well, when you say it like that, it almost makes me nervous.” L could hear the smile in Light’s voice once again. “But, to answer your question… Yes. It’s only fair. Pick wherever you want, I don’t mind.”
… Fair?
L was silent for a moment before he said quietly, “Okay, Light-kun.”TL;DR: Lawlight go on a second date and Light is just like “hey, why don’t you pick where we go this time??” (bad idea).

L raised his brows at Matsuda’s reflection on his computer screen. What was the point of him going on a date? It was pointless. A waste of time. Did Matsuda have some sort of hidden motive? Was he trying to test if L was capable of getting a date and attending one? Although it was a stupid challenge, he found himself wanting to go through with it just to rub it in Matsuda’s face.
