This is the end, thinks Maglor, here by the same Sea where he saw Elrond and Elros grow up. He never did get to repair that second-last pair of boots that Elros wore until his toes poked out of the broken seams.
How do you face it? The end.
Maglor picks up the threads of the Noldolantë in his blistered, burned hands once more, tasting the salt of grief and the salt of the Sea that will not absolve him. 'With the thought that when we go forth, you will be safe.'

Summary
Short, angsty pieces centered on Elrond, Elros, Maglor and Maedhros. The first and second are set right before and right after the War of Wrath, and focus on how Elrond and Elros were left with Gil-galad as well as the theft of the Silmarils. The third is centered around the choice of the Peredhel and how each character experienced it, and I hopefully will have a fourth up soon, which is going to break the theme a little with some happy stuff, but will still involve lots of angst.

Findaráto is able to slip away in all the confusion following the War of Wrath, and he makes his way east across Beleriand into new lands, not expecting the horror that will follow behind him.

As the Silmaril burns his hand, in agony and hopelessness, Maedhros forswears the Oath and calls the Everlasting Darkness upon him. But the Oath does not easily release its takers, and the bonds placed upon him in Angband were more than just physical chains. With curses upon curses laid within both his body and spirit, to part the two is no easy matter, but the Oath demands his death— so to his death he must go, no matter how gruesome and cruel it may be.

Summary
Centered around a reoccurring cast of original characters - or at least characters unnamed in the text - from Nargothrond, namely the ten companions of Finrod and Beren and friends who did not go. The name references two things: first the red hand in Beren's sigil, the second the name of Matt Cauthon's army from The Wheel of Time. The other unifying feature of these stories is that they are often fusions or at least partly based on characters from other series (like WoT) adapted into The Silmarillion.
