Not long after Commander Tartar's attempt to destroy Inkopolis and the world is foiled, Agent 3 wakes up from his coma with noticeable disfigurations from having been hijacked by Tartar. Concerned about the effects Tartar's hijacking could have had on Agent 3's noggin, Cap'n Cuttlefish assigns a partner to Agent 3: the Octoling girl who had freed him from Tartar's control and defeated the creature, Agent 8.
