She had never sought out revenge. Never wanted to be one of his pawns, either. But Jinpachi Ego barely had any rules to disobey since the beginning. Badmouth football all you wanted. Truthfully, it meant nothing to him, as he had already thought less of the general population to start.
"You're waiting for your buttons to be pushed, Ego-san."
For the first time in a long time, he was startled by such sudden utterance. He was never one to show much emotion if it benefited the other party solely, but somehow, his well-behaving little cousin stood here and saw right through him without even as much as a glance in his direction. Her small fingers danced across piano keys, starting off in simple reprise, but soon stopping, stilled as they sat in silence.
She was the first to move, Ego being the ever-so observant one, watching as her face turned into view. Her eyes were wide in a certain childlike naivety, but her expression was neutral. However, that isn't what stood out to him.
"Father says liars are bad people," She started, a translucent, animated black flame fanning around the very edge of her irises. "I think it's far worse to shield yourself with the truth, Ego."

Isagi stared at his friend's face, memorizing every line and curve. The way Bachira's pink lips were always chapped, the small yellow locks that curled right behind his ear, and — oh, look — the faintest splatter of brown freckles across the bridge of his nose, so pale that Isagi wouldn't have been able to see them if he was even an inch further away. And those eyes. Electrifying, unnerving, warm. Isagi felt trapped, burning under their intense stare. A blessing and a curse, Isagi thought, to have Bachira's undivided attention.
"The sun," Isagi finally said after a beat. His cheeks felt warm as the words left his mouth, but he didn't break eye contact. "I miss the sun."

Reo would use this party to break away from Nagi and make sure people only knew him as “Reo” not as “Nagi’s partner” nor as a part of “Nagi & Reo” he was done with all of that. Unbeknownst to him, a pair of dark gray eyes followed Reo until he exited. A pair of eyes that belong to someone who “did not and never did care.”
