It’s 2043, five years after the androids created by Cyberlife rose up, and fought against the humans who were both their creators and oppressors. The Android-Human War really started to turn south for the humans during the late Spring/early summer of 2039, when the androids, led by Markus, did what everyone thought was impossible... they had seized every single Cyberlife production facility across the country, including Cyberlife headquarters, located on Belle Isle... and soon took over the entire US in a surprisingly short period of time.
You used to work at Cyberlife, at a rather low level (to you, at any rate) technical position, but that didn’t stop you from treating all of the androids you helped build with kindness and respect. That all changed after the Battle of Hart Plaza in Detroit, and an army of androids came after everyone who was working at the Tower.
Suddenly, you were on the run, hiding out wherever you could, and wondering what was going to happen to you… not knowing just how desperately needed you would become to so many, both human and android alike.

It's been two weeks since Markus was victorious in his fight to free his people from the recall centers. Detroit belongs to Jericho now, but the war is far from over. It doesn't surprise him when another RK800 appears before him with a mission to end his life. What does surprise him is how quickly things unravel when Markus' proposed "solution" entwines himself with the deviant hunter and blurs the line between enemies and lovers.

So when he unexpectedly stumbles across a human that’s been chained up and left for dead, discarded like a broken toy, it’s a VERY intriguing discovery. An irresistible discovery, even.

It had been when his opinion of Markus had been the highest, and it had ended with his admiration and hopes of a scarcely touched freedom shattered.”In which Markus, after successfully directing a merciless revolution, now leads his people.
All androids, himself included, ache for retaliation against those who wronged them.
In order to avoid a war, and perhaps for personal motives, Markus paints Connor as the cause of everyone’s misery.After all, he is CyberLife’s most advanced model, and the former Deviant Hunter. With all the pain he has caused, doesn’t he deserve to pay for his sins?
That is the fate of the Connor line.

Hank Anderson has spent the past three years working as an intelligence asset for the android revolutionaries. When Hank rescues a RK800 who is in desperate need, it throws a wrench into Markus's plans.

very good worldbuilding and writing of Jericho side-characters - plus, such a cool idea to illustrate other android factions and the android revolution as a decentralized movement nationwide, it feels so much more believable. also, one of my favorite characterizations of North to date, she genuinely feels like a real person with her own unique motivations, biases, and insecurities without feeling black-and-white. also it's always such a relief to read about time-skip sober hank ;-; and the hank/rose relationship is so sweet and makes sense contextually in this AU.

an emergency exit and a gunshot that never went off, but could have, could have, flash through his head.
“...That they are conducting a new study on deviancy. To figure out why it happened. They claim it’s all
innocent, for research purposes, but...” Markus trails off. “But they are Cyberlife, so it most definitely isn’t,” Connor says sharply.Since the revolution, Connor has been working as Jericho's newly appointed special agent, investigating high-scale anti-android crimes and making sure Markus doesn't get assassinated every fucking second. In his free time, he's renovating his new shitty apartment and trying to keep Hank from dying of a high-cholesterol induced heart attack.
But then, of course, Cyberlife comes out saying they'll be conducting a study on deviancy, and Connor needs to figure out what their plans truly are, before it's too late.
(Basically Connor being a badass, the Jericrew back together again, rebuilding Detroit, and Hank being so done, all disguised under a case fic)
