“I’m fine. Sorry I woke you.” There’s a still-healing gash cutting through Carlos’s eyebrow that stings at the press of his hands.
“You don’t have to be sorry,” TK says quietly, and though Carlos can’t see him he knows by the sound of the sheets that TK is moving to sit next to him, no doubt cross-legged amongst the pillows. “It’s not your fault you had a nightmare.”
It is, Carlos wants to bite back at him. It’s all my fault.
“You shouldn’t have to put up with this,” is what he says, as he swings his legs out of bed. The concrete floor is cold against his soles, but Carlos pays it no mind as he stands up. “I should be sleeping on the couch anyway.”
- carlos struggles to accept help in the aftermath of his kidnapping/torture. tk shows him that it's okay, and that he deserves to be cared for.

“I came over here,” Steve starts, and he gives his arm a shake when the sleeve gets caught around his elbow. Once it’s off, he bunches his fist into the fabric of the collar. “To give you this,” he finishes and holds out the coat.
Eddie blinks down at it. Then he looks back up at Steve. “What?”
