“Oh yeahs, yeahs. Sorry,” they apologized, face warming as they set him down on the couch. They scratched the back of their head while the pippins crossed his legs to get comfortable. “Alright, boss. So’s youse’s is goings to stay here,” Battat made a move to complain, but Jongler held up a finger to shush him, “and youse will do’s someth’n other than work.” They bonked the die’s head once more. He huffed in return, but a slight green on his cheeks betrayed the act. They turned away and prepared to hop off until a small green claw shot out and grabbed their wrist. Turning their head to look back at Battat, their eye-bar and shoulders relaxing as their gaze landed on a very, very green-faced pippins who looked anywhere but at them.

Pluey ducks under a spray of bullets, jumping for cover behind an overturned table. When she entered she'd caught sight of Jongler rearing back to suckerpunch a shadowguy, and now, as she scans the fray, she sees Battat winding his hands around the neck of a zapper twice his size. There's a pair of pippinses huddled under the table to her left; she isn't surprised to hear them placing bets. I got my points on that zapper with the hat. How long you think Greenie'll hold up?
One of them catches her eye and winks. "What a rush, eh, Mike?"

Cat Mike would know what to do.
Cat Mike would give him a huge hug or a pat on the head or even a kiss on the cheek—which the Pippins would cutely fluster over, which he himself would explain with a smirk and a shrug.
Cat Mike would make him laugh, make him feel better.
But in this instant, he wasn't Cat Mike. He wasn't Mike, or even one of Mike's coworkers. He was just some random Shadowguy, probably prying too hard into someone else's personal business.
OR: The green Pippins unknowingly rambles to his coworker at a work party.

Remaining in place for only a few minutes, he practically sucked it down due to the awareness that break would be over in only a couple minutes. Sighing, Pluey shoved the bud against the wall, effectively putting it out before putting the remaining filter back into the box.
Pluey stepped back, reaching to pull the door open—
Ka-klunk.
Huh.
Pluey tried again.
Ka-klunk.
Well, that wasn't good.
The door wasn’t opening.

With the studio working harder than usual, a TV marathon was happening live! It's everything Tenna could've dreamed for, everyone on set working so hard. It wouldn't hurt if Pluey stepped aside during commercial break for a smoke, he has plenty of time! Just barely enough to be found before it's too late.

His vision wavered, completely out of time from when he turned his head.
That doesn’t feel right.
Battat felt himself frown, turning his body to continue looking around the hall, eyes squinting as if it would change anything.
Same thing again, if anything giving him a sense of vertigo.
This and starting to get lightheaded, he placed a hand against the wall to steady himself, as if the ground could give out any moment.
“You’re such a good pal Mike, and these massages you started up recently, really!” Tenna pushed the door open, looking over before tilting his head. “Mike?”
His mouth turned dry, standing there before turning to look up at his boss.
Okay, not even a metaphor, his mouth literally felt like he suddenly wasn’t producing saliva.

That chime rang out once more, the phone vibrating hard enough to cause a few more of the stacked cards to slip from their previous position.
He knew better.
He’d walk out.
Best to find where Tenna went.
Nothing important was found afterall.
Just abandoned supplies that belonged in an auto shop.
Only he didn’t know better.
Inhaling, he reached out, shifting his hold on the Mike head as he grasped the handset of the phone.

Tenna goes to Cyber City and brings Mike with him. Battat nominates himself only to experience horrors he doesn't stick around long enough to even attempt to comprehend. Early into the night when Tenna splits ways, Battat decides he wants some company and invites his fellow Mike's to join him.

Resolved, they made their way over.
“Howdy,” they said, taking a seat at the table. The dealer looked at them, but instead of smiling with a hint of gratitude (like they had imagined), she glared at them.
“Hey. You wanna join a table that, I don’t know, has anyone actually there? I’m off in ten.” She said shortly, sounding unamused.
Ouch.
Jongler blinked, taken aback. They were beginning to understand why her table was empty.
Jongler is just passing through town when they run into a poker dealer who catches their attention.
