Alex is at the high end of the biochemistry industry, though he still makes backdoor deals. Morgan makes do with what they can steal and trade in the shady parts of the city. These two couldn't be further apart in status and reach, yet somehow, they seem to be at each other's throats.

Many people believed Charlie Morningstar to be naïve. Her sheltered upbringing and unlimited protection by the king of hell made her not see how dangerous, how disgusting, how deranged the sinners under her rule were. How else would you explain the insane idea of the hotel she was working on? How could you explain that she believed Angel Dust, the most famous drugged up porn star of hell, could be redeemed? How could she have accepted the Radio Demon of all people to be her trusted second in command? Why would she give the crazed inventor a second chance after he tried to sell her off to the Vs, why trust the former overlord at the bar, the crazed cleaning lady, the fallen angel at her side?
Charlie was not naïve – Charlie was born with six Soulmarks and she believed in every single one of her Soulmates. They had all had found their way to her in their times of greatest need and even if they had not recognized yet that she was their Soulmate she would safe every single one of them.
If they needed it she would be their guardian angel.

Megatron’s had widened in shock for a moment before narrowing again in calculation. Optimus’s optics were round in shock and fear as his life was held in Megatron’s servo just as the other’s was held in his.
“Well,” Megatron’s voice was rougher than normal as this tableau continued, “we seem to be at an impasse, Autobot.”

Megatron is just getting his Decepticon political movement off the ground and the Prime coming toKaon is the one chance he has to make himself known.
Optimus on the other hand, Is here to settle a problem once and for all; Is Cybertron actually running out of fuel? If it is, what is he willing to do about it? If it's not, then who has been lying about it?
This is actually a story where two people get stuck in a cave but one of them is an eldritch abomination of a werewolf. The political stuff is all undertones.
I would recommend reading at least 'The left side of the lab' before reading this one, just for some context. I promise it's a deliciously angsty fic.

Takes place Before Megatron over throws Megazarak in the lull between the Decepticons getting thrown off Cybertron and the war restarting.
Also Sentinel Prime also got demoted in this AU. He is very much not a fan of construction work.
