Daja watched her hand her horse to a groomsman and the jousting lance to another attendant before she took off her helmet. She was beautiful, Daja thought. Keladry ran her hand through her chin length hair, slipping off the tie on it so it framed her face, which Daja found both stubborn and surprisingly delicate.
Briar whistled. “You might have to fight me for a chance with her,” he told Daja. He must have felt the surge of attraction through their bond.
“You wouldn’t know what to do with a woman like that,” Daja retorted.
