Conversation was polite, professional, sterile. They were two acquaintances again, not close friends. Certainly not two people who had almost kissed in an adrenaline fueled haze while a bullet was dug out of his arm on the kitchen table."

Summary
There was a loud knocking on the door. All three children were crying for their own reasons and Soap felt as if he’d lose his mind at any moment. It was so overwhelming. Somehow, war felt easier than this. “Leah, give your brother back his toy,” He commands softly, picking up Sophie from her rocker.
Leah yells out, “But I want it!”
“Yes,” Soap says, making his way to the door, “I understand but you snatched it from his hands. You have plenty of other toys you can play with.”
“No! I want this one.”
Alec sobs louder and Soaps head feels like it’s about to explode. Sophie needs to get fed, he’s aware. But right now so much is going on. How the hell did his sister do this?
“Leah-“ He’s cut off as he trips over a Lego set. He starts hopping on one foot, just inches from the door and has to bite his lips to stop himself from cursing. Sophie screams at the top of her lungs.
“I know,” He coos, “I’m sorry. I’ll get you fed in a moment.”
He adjusts her and throws open the door. On the other side is the last person he’d ever expect to see.

Ghost cant sleep and is on mandatory leave. Soap had the only overnight coffee/bakery shop in the area. Soap begins to wonder if the strange balaclava clad man is coming around for just his coffee or his company.
----“Welcome to the Scot’s Final Stand, how can I help ya?” Soap greeted the man. A cornered animal was a more apt description for what he saw. The man’s deep eyes looked haunted, and the grease paint he wore did nothing to subvert that assumption. Soap scanned the man’s tactical gear quickly, picking up on the amount of knife hilts and gun holsters that covered the man.
“Didn’t know we were at war in Glasgow,” Soap teased. The man huffed.

He was about to give up, maybe call into the void for her again despite the fact it would probably fall on deaf ears, when he heard a giggle from behind him. Immediately, his shoulders slumped in relief. She was fine. His wife was fine. Just trying to give him a heart attack.
“You panic yourself far too much, my love, I just… needed to prepare myself in coming here.” Came Kristen’s familiar voice, causing Phil to close his eyes and smile before turning around to look at her. There was a slight hesitation when she spoke, but he didn’t worry too much about it.
“Well, when my wife wants me to hurry so badly that she summoned me back from my travels halfway across the world and won’t even let me sleep, pardon myself for being-”
Phil’s words came to a sudden halt in his mouth when he looked at her. Properly looked at her. The relieved smile on his face fell into one of shock. He was frozen where he stood for the moment.
As for today, he was too busy staring at the two bundles she was holding carefully against her chest.

Day 3: Flowers
“I promise you. I promise I’ll come back.”
He promises, George thinks wistfully. He promises such a thing- to offer George with his word on something, to uphold it. It’s as if he’s saying that he’ll give the world to him, just for him. But somewhere is the lingering thought in George's mind is that he won't come back. That the cruel war that had riddled their land will take him too, and he will be left aching and worry-worn. George shivers at the thought. Of a life without him.
“You promise?"
That you’ll come home to me?
And as if he heard those unspoken words. Dream beams at him.
“I promise. You won’t even notice that I was gone, my love.”
George lets out a wet and broken laugh at the overly romantic pet name that he associates with his beloved. Dream does so too, before pulling him back into his embrace.
They stay there for a bit. The war can wait.
“I promise I’ll be waiting.”

Sitting down by a lake in what he assumed was France, based on the current world maps, Steve felt a presence behind him. It was a man, as far a he could tell, and he was alone.
“I’m not a soldier, if you’re wondering,” Steve said, dipping his fingers into the water and feeling it warm up as touched it. The man behind him seemed, startled that Steve had sensed him, and he couldn’t be blamed for that. Steve had always been able to sense these things.
“How can I be sure?” The man asked, walking closer to Steve with light footsteps.
Steve chuckled, “I know better than to get tied up in this nonsense, it will all be considered ancient history in two centuries,” he dipped his feet into the lake, humming happily as the water adjusted to his preferred temperature.

Steve has lived in this same apartment for years, seven-c, and not once has he ever heard noise from eight-c, not like you'd expect if someone lived there, so when he does he's confused as all hell and can't quit thinking about it. He continues to hear these noises without having ever seen the tenant in the apartment above his and continues to be confused about it until he meets the man living above him. Bucky.
It's not a smooth meeting but Steve wouldn't change it for the world except if he could've saved Bucky from the hurt that propelled their first meeting to be not smooth.
