When Scar tells him to make a wish on these shooting stars, Grian can never think of anything fast enough. There’s a rush of panic, a frantic scrambling for something worthwhile to wish for. Because this one might be the last one. But before long, the star’s gone and so is Grian’s chance.
Or; 3 times Scar asks Grian to look at the night sky. And 1 time he doesn't.

Summary
Hermit’s Hollow was a quiet town where you learned to ignore whisperings of nonsense and the dull, persistent feeling of being watched before you learned to ride a bike. To call it pedestrian would be a great disservice to all the terrible oddities occupying it— folks and legends alike.
Not that Grian believed any of them, of course.

Summary
Grian is on a mission: kill the Red King of the Third Precinct. Unfortunately, when he travels to the capital where the king resides, he lands in a spot of trouble with a local merchant when he accidentally destroys the merchant’s shop. After he enters into a contract to help pay off the damages, he discovers that there might be another side to Scar under the silver-tongued salesman— and that he’s not the only one who wants the Red King dead.
