Summary
What if it was Lord Eddard Stark, not Robert Baratheon, who faced Prince Rhaegar Targaryen on the banks of the Trident?
Armed with Ice, Eddard Stark meets Prince Rhaegar in single combat amidst the chaos of battle. Steel sings, rivers run red, and in the end, it is Eddard’s blade that strikes true—shattering the rubies from Rhaegar’s breastplate, scattering them into legend. With the prince slain and the Targaryen host broken, the rebel armies rally around Eddard Stark who claims Kingship through right of Conquest. Gravely wounded from the duel, Ned cannot lead the charge to King’s Landing. The task falls to closest friend and brother in all but blood—Lord Robert Baratheon, his task is to secure the Capital and take the Targaryens prisoners. And the most importantly look for the newly anointed King's sister and Lord Robert's own betrothed which will lead him to a certain tower.

But then Scott stopped talking, and Pyro quickly followed suit. The nobleman’s nose scrunched up, his now pointier ears (seriously, how had nobody noticed that? He wasn’t crazy! They just refused to look!) twitched. All that Avid could hear was his own heartbeat. He wasn’t breathing, he wasn’t moving. He refused to let out a single sound. He wasn’t ready, not to go against two of them. Maybe if he’d just come across one of them by themselves, he could have… surely if it was Pyro. Scott he was far more afraid of.
“It sounds like we have company”. Following Scott’s words, everything moved in slow motion. The vampire’s head turned, their eyes locked together, and then Avid was running.
He didn’t know where he was going. There was nowhere for him to run. He was far away from town, outside of any proper path, and, most importantly, nobody believed him. Nobody had tried going after him. He had no allies left. Nobody would have known if he had died.
Avid was going to die.

He broke three generations of planning as Starks tried to prepare for the coming darkness because his father found him too shy to include in their schemes. Ned believes himself trapped in one of the seven hells until someone offers to let him go back and live life again.

Looks the same, sure, talks the same, absolutely - but he's got a 'professional working relationship' with Bill Cipher that Stan'd really rather not interrogate, and seems to have changed his whole vibe from Virgin Loser, to Space Cowboy Wizard; Which isn't all that different, now that Stan thinks about it.
Stan and Ford must now find a way to kill Bill, get the family back to Earth, and try to keep the ghosts of their past from tearing them apart. Again. Same boat, different planks, and neither one can deal with their own reflection in the water.
