Shouto nods. That, he had assumed. “Okay. Thank you.”
Aizawa eyes him, staring at his bandages before turning around. “Don’t thank me yet, kid.”
After a chance meeting with Dabi, Shouto is met with the realisation that the villain was, in fact, his eldest brother who was thought to be dead. With this in mind, Shouto goes on a wild goose chase trying to track Touya down again, while struggling with his mental health, keeping several secrets, and dealing with his own horrible ideas.

Shouto’s lower lip wobbles as he cries. “M-Momma hurt me and Father sent her away. I m-miss you Touya, please come home. It’s scary without you.”
“Alright,” Dabi says soothingly while he glares at the heroes, “We’re going to my place then. Your nii-san’s going to protect you now, okay?”
Shouto is accidentally rewound by Eri’s quirk in the middle of a villain attack, reverting him to a small child with no memories of his future. Dabi takes the opportunity to bring Shouto with him to the League of Villains headquarters to remove him from Endeavor’s clutches.

Summary
It’s ironic, he thinks, how bright his father burns. How his presence commands an entire room. How much of his life is occupied by him. Endeavor’s fire burns through them all, in flames, in anger, in the hurt they bring. He’s the reason Touya died, the reason his mother is locked up in a hospital and the reason Natsuo and Fuyumi could never have a proper family.
Shouto’s imagined his own undoing so many times. He often wonders, as Endeavor’s creation, if he’ll go up in flames, a spectacle for all to see, or if he’ll fizzle out in silence until there’s nothing left but ash. A masterpiece falling from grace. Sometimes he even wonders if one day he’ll burn himself up like Touya had. He imagines Endeavor’s reaction, as he once again conceals a dead Todoroki and continues to live without guilt for the children he destroyed.
In the end, his unravelling begins with a single drop of blood.
Alternatively: after moving into the dorms and finally learning how to relax, the years of abuse Shouto suffered at the hands of Endeavor finally start to catch up to him and he finds himself not knowing how to handle it.

Touya was born to Enji and Rei, Shoto was made by them; manufactured. Touya was his parents' blood, flesh and soul—Shoto was sweat and tears. Touya Todoroki was skin, Shoto Todoroki was plastic. Eventually, Touya rotted. Shoto was meant to last forever, outliving everything and everyone around him, killing it slowly but surely.

I rub this goo on my knives - it binds the spirit to the body. You’re not dead, just having a near-death experience. You’ll come back. Or not. Depends. Someone’s going to have to kiss you to fix this. Like a fairytale.” He grins. He’s got nicer teeth than a villain who looks like he eats out of a dumpster should.
Shouta stares at him. Then at himself - his graying face, the puddle of blood.
“Of course,” he mutters. “Fucking weirdo villains and their fucking weird fixations.”

Shouta's not sure he wants to be alive, but he's also not committed to the idea of dying. A stabbing while stopping a mugging makes him think about what he actually wants.
