Summary
Starscream had lost a lot before the war. Sunbeam. His sparkling. Starscream had long since lost hope that his sparkling was alive. Sunbeam had died in the ruins of Vos, and Starscream would never see him.
B-127 had been born before the war. He did not have anything left to lose by the time war broke out. Raised underground in energon mines, B-127 had not even gotten to grow into his true colors. Optimus Prime has saved him from the mines; there was never a need to look back.

Summary
As the Cybertronian Civil war slowly destroys their planet, it also changes the mechs who fight in it. The Decepticons grow more twisted, and a pervasive practice of sexual assault as a means of asserting power becomes rampant in their ranks. It even extends to some of the Autobot prisoners they capture.
Bumblebee is captured and given to Starscream as a toy to use until he offlines. Starscream is all too familiar with this practice, and refuses to go through with it. But when he's weak and injured from battle, there's nothing to prevent other mechs from jumping at the opportunity to put him in his place.
It's only a matter of time before his trine finds out what's been happening to him and cause a massive rift in the Decepticon ranks.

It happened in a blur of events, one after the other. Enjin was careless, just like he was when he let Momoa touch the broker. He hadn’t even seen the raider coming. They got themselves tangled up, fighting the Raiders, when originally they were sent to slay a trash beast. The usual. The raiders in question were a bunch of newbies, judging by how he’s never seen them before.

Prime moves swiftly, with purpose—lifting, shifting, tossing debris aside as though it weighs nothing. His steps are careful but unrelenting, the ground shaking just slightly under each one. The tremor of the rubble vibrates through Starscream and it feels like knives being jabbed into his wires.
Of course Optimus Prime would show up. Of course he'd come for one of his own.
He can't even delegate this to someone else. Optimus Prime is too noble, too compassionate, too honorable to not put his own life on the line for his underlings.
Megatron would laugh at the very notion.

His trinemates know him better than that. They know him inside and out, they know his true self - the bond they share doesn't lie. They know what he feels. They feel what he feels.
But it wasn't always like that. It took Starscream eons to show weaknesses or appear vulnerable. It took even longer for him to trust them at his lowest.And this was one of those times - one of those rare occurrences. With Thundercracker on a mission, Skywarp was alone to help his mate.
It went as bad as he imagined, if not worse.
