Magnus has a guest, the High Warlock of Venice Nico di Angelo. The two have been friends for so long, so after everything that happened with Ragnor and Camille, Nico wanted to visit and see how Magnus is holding up. Nico is mainly very fascinated by Magnus' Shadowhunter and by how happy Alec makes Magnus. Granted, he's mildly confused that the pretty Shadowhunter Magnus is living with is a different one, but oh well.
At the same time, the Institute gets some more reinforcements from Idris, what with all the losses they suffered thanks to Valentine's attack on them. One particular pair of parabatai instantly get along with Alec and Jace - Annabeth Chase and Percy Jackson.
Well, instantly might be a bit of a stretch between Jace and Percy, but hey, nothing a good, long sparring-session and bar-tour can't fix!
