Summary
Armand feeds him from the wrist and Daniel is unmade, pulled like the end of a slipknot until he once more is a thing unformed. A blank slate, tabula rasa, wiped clean. A sand castle at high tide. A snake eating its own tail.
Everything eats itself in the end, comes back to where it started, and Daniel is no different. His blood is Armand’s blood is his blood, and when he gulps down mouthful after mouthful, Armand’s hand feverishly massaging his throat to aid the weak, dying muscles in forcing it down, it is himself he is drinking from.
He is at the bottom of it all. He is at the place from before the bottom even existed, the place that always was. He is woven into nothing and back again. He is woven into nothing and it is woven into him. He is woven, and unwoven, and hungry, and woven, and starving, and woven.
Starving, starving, starving. Like the ringing of an alarm clock. Eat, you stupid motherfucker. Feed.

Honestly, Jayce had thought his relationship with his estranged ex-partner couldn't get any worse. He'd watched it crash, burn, and die himself. Hell, he'd pulled the trigger. But of course Viktor would just have to prove him wrong, returning on the eve of his greatest scientific achievement to date. And, goddamn, it does not go how he'd expected. In the bad direction.
As he moves up in the world in the aftermath, hailed as both Piltover’s heroic defender and unmatched genius in the field of hextech (when he only ever wanted to be ONE of those things), he’s hounded by his new/old archnemesis and, even worse, celebrity status. Scarier yet, things with Viktor are still . . . complicated. Just because he can’t seem to bring himself to kill him doesn’t mean there’s any chance they’d ever come back together. Surely not out of necessity after Jayce does something stupid. Right?

The Defender of Tomorrow lifts his hammer, palm practiced against its lithe stem.
Viktor continues, again pressing into his space like he can goad his partner into a fist fight, “Vik. V. What’s next? Darling? Dearest?”
Jayce’s grin is a thing of legend. Practiced to perfection. A weapon of its own design, made up of sharp curves and blunt blades, slicing his Defender’s face into a beautiful lethality. The arc of the hammer holds nothing in comparison to the mold of his smile. “You’d like that, wouldn’t you, sweetheart?”
OR. viktor is having dreams of doomed timelines. jayce is dreaming of having viktor in any way.

Half a decade after Viktor leaves Piltover for good, a fragment of Hexcore permanently adhered to his soul, an old friend comes to him for help. This wouldn't be an issue, if the same old friend hadn't spent the last five years trying to hit him, very hard, with a really big hammer.
“You’re not real,” Viktor repeated, closing his eyes. Even with the knowledge that this was a dream, the gentle touch unraveled him. There was an impact crater where his heart should be.
The calloused pad of Jayce's thumb found the corner of Viktor’s mouth. “All right. I’ll bite – what’s your evidence for this hypothesis?”
